Paragon Toolmaking in the UK provides complete tooling solutions for a wide range of sectors and its customers range from SMEs to major national and international organisations . Established by Carl Canty in 1969 , parts manufactured with its tools are used by OEMs such as Rolls Royce ; Land- Rover ; Siemens ; Aston Martin ; Ideal Boilers ; BMW ; Lotus and Swift Caravans . Clients come from sectors including automotive ; construction ; aerospace ; pharmaceuticals and white goods .
Based in Kingston upon Hull in the UK , it boasts over five decades of experience in press tool manufacture ( from concept and prototype through to design and manufacture ). Many of its employees have been trained inhouse through its apprenticeship scheme and stayed with the company , some now for over twenty years , “ with a combined experience of more than 250 years .”

and manufacture projects from the most intricate to simple and largest to smallest . We manufacture bespoke items , jigs , machinery and equipment of up to 10 tonnes in weight , serving all industries . We also offer new and innovative press tool design solutions , as well as advanced 3D modelling and formability analysis . As well as our design and engineering expertise , we provide efficient CNC manufacture for high-quality parts and inspection / testing to meet customer specifications ,” it told ISMR .
The toolmaking process
Examples of the tooling produced by the company include progression press tools ; transfer tools ; jigs and fixtures tools ; stage tools ; forming tools ; blanking tools and deepdraw tools . It also offers a tool repair service . Using in-house try-out presses , it can build and trial tools of up to 400 tonnes with a maximum die set size of 2.75m x 1.5m . It also utilises a Stanko 160-ton press with a bed size of 1.25 x 1.7m .
