Protection and visibility
Kemppi has announced the launch of its new Zeta welding and grinding helmet product range for full-face protection with lightweight design and advanced visibility features . Designed for multifunctional use where the face and eyes need protection , the Zeta helmets can be used for welding , grinding , inspection and cutting processes .
The Zeta product range includes four narrow , lightweight , stand-alone helmet models equipped with the advanced auto-darkening filter for welding or a wide visor for grinding , along with other practical features :
■ Zeta G200 grinding helmet .
■ Zeta G200x grinding helmet with integrated LED work lights .
■ Zeta W200 welding helmet with automatic darkening welding filter ( ADF ).
■ Zeta W200x welding helmet with ADF and integrated LED work lights .
“ We have placed special focus on improved visibility and eye protection . We can see this in the significantly large viewing area of the ADF filter on the Zeta welding helmet , measuring 110mm in width and 60mm in height . The Zeta grinding helmet also features a large 200mm-high visor with a 180 ° horizontal view ,” explained Roger Rasmussen , Head , Kemppi Safety Business Unit .
The Zeta ADF is an improved version with VISION + technology designed to increase the quality of vision and work accuracy .
“ The ADF DIN 2.5 light-state means that users can enjoy sharp colours and visibility through the filter when the welding arc is inactive ,” explained the Finnish welding specialist .
Integrated work lights feature an automatic function that turns off the working lights when users are working in bright lighting conditions . When the arc goes off and in poor lighting conditions , the work lights automatically turn on .
“ The battery pack is on the neckband , which further improves the balance of the helmet . It can be charged with a USB charger . Power levels can be checked by pushing the button outside the shell . The completely smooth inner surface of the Zeta helmet makes it easy to clean ,” concluded Kemppi . n

At EuroBLECH 2022 in Hanover ( 25 – 28 October 2022 ), ConSus ANT will be presenting the ConSus abrasive mixing unit , which now also enables the continuous Water Abrasive Suspension ( WAS ) process in the machining industry , in hall 12 ( booth H85 ). In addition , it will present the new Abrasive Recycling Unit ARU for energy-efficient , environmentally friendly recycling of the deployed abrasive .

The ConSus abrasive mixing unit enables fast , precise and powerful cutting of all common materials in the continuous WAS process without any effects on the material or structural changes . Compared to the conventional Water Abrasive Injection ( WAIS ) process , ConSus works up to three times faster and at less than half the pressure . This reduces time , energy and CO₂ emissions . The WAS cutting jet consists only of water and abrasive , which ensures a significantly higher efficiency without turbulent mixing conditions and leaves the cutting nozzle at almost twice the speed of sound ,” the manufacturer explained .
The procurement , storage and disposal of cutting material is an important cost factor in industrial waterjet cutting . The Abrasive
Recycling Unit ARU enables the processing and reuse of more than 100kg of abrasive per hour with extremely low energy requirements . This , said ConSus ANT , enables users “ to significantly increase the economic efficiency and sustainability of their processes .”
The ARU is suitable for use with both the WAIS and WAS processes . While WAIS requires the use of the ARU with a drying system for the recyclate , WAS allows the moist abrasive to be fed directly back into the cutting process .
“ In conjunction with the ConSus abrasive mixing unit , a reuse rate of at least 80 per cent of the abrasive is possible ,” concluded the manufacturer . n
