Magnetic core drill
FEIN , a power tools and accessories manufacturer , has released a new magnetic core drill , the KBE 32 , to the UK metalworking market .
“ The new KBE 32 magnetic core drill features a 1200-watt , high-power motor for drilling holes of up to 32mm . It is also the first tool on the market to combine a weight of 10.8kg with 1200-watt , offering a revolutionary power-to-weight ratio with high magnetic holding force . This means optimum control accessibility for those working in tight spaces ,” it explained .
“ Easy to use , robust and extremely lightweight , the KBE 32 has been developed with a real focus on accessibility from size , weight and control standpoints . This was a key priority throughout the entire research and development process ,” it added .

EuroBLECH will be the world premiere for the 100 % electric rollbending machine with V4 EasyRoll software .
Intelligent rollforming systems
AMB Picot , a French rollforming specialist that develops intelligent three- and fourroll rolling machines , will present its latest innovations at the EuroBLECH trade show in Hanover , Germany ( 25-28 October 2022 ). Show visitors can find the company on stand A26 in Hall 11 .
“ We will showcase our 100 % electric rollbending machine , specialising in thin sheet-metal processing , at EuroBLECH . It will be the world premiere of this system which is optimised for energy consumption , rolling accuracy and simplicity of maintenance . It is equipped with a touch-screen industrial PC controller and the latest version ( V4 ) of the Easyroll © rolling assistance software ,” it told ISMR .
“ The CNC rolling assistant , EasyRoll ,
includes five major modules that enable the user to become very easily familiar with the Picot three-roll bending machine through an ergonomic interface . This means intuitive and efficient rolling that will accomodate both experienced and unexperienced users ,” it added .
Version 4 of this patented software , launched in June 2022 , uses artificial intelligence to provide powerful assistance to the user by calculating any necessary corrections of the rolling program . This feature , based on the effectively measured rolled profile entered by the operator , automatically updates the program and fine-tunes the dedicated material database . n
Ironworker packs a heavy punch
A complete range of general to heavy-duty metal fabrication machinery from Scotchman Industries will be presented on booths BC15301 and BC15401 at FABTECH in Atlanta . Live equipment demonstrations will showcase the features , benefits and cut quality .
Scotchman Ironworkers to be featured include : DO95 U . S . -made , dual-operator ironworker machine with hydraulic system designed using two pumps , allowing two operators to use the machine at the same time and ensuring that both operations have full hydraulic pressure and speed . The DO 95 has a 95-ton capacity punch and a 9 ” throat depth , which can punch a 1-3 / 16 ” hole in 1 ” material . Other workstations include a 24 ” flat bar shear , rectangle notcher , angle shear and a tool table .
Also on the booth will be the 5014- ET Ironworker , dubbed by Scotchman as “ the world ’ s first and only 50-ton hydraulic ironworker with a revolving three-station turret punch .” The revolving turret accepts up to three different punch sizes that can be changed in seconds . It features 50 tons of pressure and can punch a 13 / 16 ” hole in a 3 / 4 ” plate . Other workstations include a 14 ” flat bar shear , rectangle notcher , angle shear and a tool table for using a large variety of additional tools .
The F185 85-ton ironworker with five fully integrated workstations will also be showcased , along with the 50514-EC 50- ton ironworker ( with automated measuring system ) and a number of hydraulic presses . n
