TRUMPF reports strong order
book and increased sales
Sheet metal specialist , The TRUMPF Group , closed its 2021 / 22 fiscal year on 30 June 2022 with a significant increase in sales . According to preliminary calculations , sales amounted to 4.2 billion euros , up from 3.5 billion euros in FY 2020 / 21 .
The Netherlands is now the company ’ s best-performing market with sales of around 840 million euros . This is due to growth in the TRUMPF Group ’ s EUV business with Dutch technology company , ASML . The company ’ s second-biggest market is the U . S . with sales of around 655 million euros , followed by Germany with sales of approximately 590 million euros . TRUMPF also entered the new fiscal year with a bulging order book . Order intake rose by 42 per cent to some 5.6 billion euros , up from 3.9 billion euros in FY 2020 / 21 .
“ The global disruption to supply chains clearly affected our sales ,” commented TRUMPF CEO , Nicola Leibinger-Kammüller . “ Despite a high order backlog , we ended up making fewer machines and laser systems than we could have done due to the ongoing shortages in semiconductor and electronic components . But the strong economic momentum we ’ re seeing in the U . S . and across Europe is encouraging , and we ’ re now benefiting from growing demand for e-mobility solutions and for technology in other areas .
AIDA-America hosts new servo press symposium
AIDA-America , a metal stamping press manufacturer , held a 2022 Servo Symposium at its Dayton , Ohio , facility in the U . S . on 15-16 June 2022 . Attendees participated in educational seminars , toured AIDA-America ’ s press manufacturing facility and experienced hands-on servo technology demonstrations , including three AIDA DSF Series servo presses .
AIDA-America hosted over 100 guests from 40 companies throughout North America at this invitation-only event .

The Group ’ s headcount has now risen to around 16,500 , including some 8,400 employees in Germany as of 30 June 2022 , approximately 4,900 of whom work at the company ’ s headquarters in Ditzingen , Germany .
The Group has also strengthened its software portfolio by acquiring the remaining 49 per cent stake in Indian software development joint venture , TRUMPF Metamation Private Limited . The Chennaibased software firm , which specialises in the development of CAD and CAM software applications and machine control solutions , is a key component of TRUMPF ’ s global software strategy . The company currently employs around 40 software specialists .
TRUMPF is also set to invest around fourmillion euros in ScaleNC . This start-up offers digital services on a cloud platform to sheetmetal manufacturers , for example to program

Growth in turbulent times
Reforms supported by investments in green and digital infrastructure and human capital can boost , and even double , the growth potential in some EU member states between now and 2030 , according to a new World Bank report . The latest “ European Union Regular Economic Report – Living Up to Potential in the Wake of Adverse Shocks ” reviews how some EU member states can navigate turbulent economic times to foster long-term growth and inclusion following a pandemic , an ongoing conflict in the region and a cost-of-living crisis .
Many EU member state economies have recovered to pre-pandemic levels of growth , although at an uneven pace . The report finds that , in the long term , higher investment along with reforms ( such as increasing labour force participation , integrating migrant workers , strengthening institutions and improving educational outcomes ) can raise potential output .
The green transition , to put countries on a more sustainable path , was also highlighted . n
