Sheet metal component quality is key at Silberhorn Blechtechnik GmbH in Germany , with its focus on laser-cut , bent and processed parts .

“ Newly formed Silberhorn Blechtechnik employs 85 people and uses an ARKU precision levelling system for its sheet metal operations .“

Officially , Silberhorn Blechtechnik has only existed since 2016 . However , the company has much more experience in sheet metal processing . Its parent company , Silberhorn Maschinenbau , was founded in 1989 in a garage and began , in 1998 , with sheet metal processing for its own cleaning systems .

As a second mainstay , this became the “ components manufacturing ” division a year later . The aim was to process sheet metal through laser cutting , bending and other processes . The division serves both the company ’ s own cleaning technology division as well as external customers from a wide range of industries such as mechanical engineering , agricultural technology and the electronics industry .
“ This division has grown successively - one machine after the other was added ,” Diane Silberhorn , CEO of Silberhorn Blechtechnik GmbH , told ISMR . The growth at the parent company led to the spin-off of the components manufacturing division , with a focus on laser cutting , as Silberhorn Blechtechnik .
Further capacity was added to sheet metal processing with the construction of a new facility . It features 5,500 square metres of production floor space and 250 square metres of administrative floor space in Brunn , Germany . Silberhorn Blechtechnik now employs 85 people and uses an ARKU precision levelling system for its sheet metal operations .
High degrees of automation
“ The new building was a challenge - also because most of the machines were bought new ,” explained Diane Silberhorn . The heart of the factory is a high-bay warehouse : from there , the sheets are automatically transported to the laser cutting machines . Loading and unloading of the machines and re-storage of the cut components in the high-bay warehouse are also automated operations .
“ The ideal interplay of automation and digitalisation ensures the highest efficiency of our processes ,” said the CEO . Yet for all her innovative spirit , she does not forget sustainability : a photovoltaic system on the roof generates environmentally-friendly electricity . The waste heat from the machines is also used for heating in winter and cooling the buildings , as well as heating water in summer .
A new FlatMaster ® 88 precision leveller from ARKU , along with the new machines , has also arrived at the new facility .
Even thick plates can be handled by the FlatMaster ®.
