ISMR caught up with Produtech ’ s CEO , Fabrizio Mologni , to discuss its latest innovations , new products and response to the COVID-19 crisis .

Produtech is based in Albano Sant ’ Alessandro in the province of Bergamo , Italy , and specialises in the production of sheet metal processing ( punching and laser cutting ) machines and systems which feed material directly from coil . The company , established in 1993 , immediately embarked on an R & D investment strategy to create innovative coil-fed machines and systems . Systems include combined punch-laser systems and special equipment , such as punching lines for processing metal bars and beading machines .

ISMR : Please highlight any notable successes and achievements over the past two-three years ?
FM : We have set technological product and process innovation as the main objective of our R & D activity . Research and development has always been an important investment item in the company ’ s budget and has led to the creation of a wide range of innovative products , covered by international patents , as well as a substantial international customer base . Our products , covered by international patents , are tailor-made technological solutions for our customers , designed for specific production needs .
In recent years , the design , construction and marketing of our “ EffiCOIL ” production line is an example of the high technological levels that we aim to achieve . This line features a machine which fuses two technologies for metalworking part production ; punching / forming using mechanical tools and fibre optic laser cutting . This coil-fed machine enables two complementary production technologies to interact in a single working area . We believe that this feature makes it unique on the world market and it has given a significant boost to the growth of the Produtech brand .
