CONTINUOUS COIL COATING
Coated coil can be slit for narrow widths, cut to required lengths, bent, profiled or deep drawn without damaging the organic coating. We outline its utility.
“ Coil coatings offer corrosion resistance, energy efficiency, environmental benefits and low maintenance requirements.”
The coil coatings market comprises coating systems applied to steel or aluminium coils through a continuous, automated process before fabrication. These coatings provide corrosion protection, aesthetic enhancement and functional performance benefits such as durability and chemical resistance.
Coil coatings are experiencing high demand due to their crucial contribution to improved durability, corrosion resistance and appearance, as well as meeting strict environmental and performance requirements across sectors.
“ Coil coatings are extensively applied across building & construction, appliances, automotive & transportation, and HVAC applications to deliver increased protection against weathering, abrasion and chemical exposure. To ensure the preservation of product life and reduce maintenance costs, coil coatings have a positive effect on performance and improve energy efficiency in end-use applications,” explained analyst, Markets and Markets.
“ Increased awareness of sustainability concerns, regulatory mandates for

environmentally friendly solutions and the increased use of lightweight materials in innovative product designs are driving the adoption of next-generation, coil-coating technologies. In response, manufacturers increasingly are emphasising low-VOC, chromate-free and environmentally responsible formulations, setting the coil-coatings’ market for long-term growth,” it added.
There is escalating demand, for example, for resilient, weather-resistant and visually appealing materials in construction. Coil coatings, known for their benefits such as corrosion resistance, energy efficiency and
low maintenance requirements, have become favoured options for applications such as roofs, facades and cladding.
Coil coating utility
The coil coating sector, however, faces a set of converging pressures. Energy costs continue to rise. Environmental regulations are tightening across major markets. Downstream customers are asking increasingly detailed questions about carbon footprint and linespeed constraints often limit how much can be produced from existing infrastructure.
Beckers now supplies matt lacquer that is formulated both for automotive body and component parts.
