AIDA HMI.
New HMI for stamping presses
AIDA will introduce the new AIDA HMI, its proprietary human-machine interface platform, at EuroBLECH 2026 in Hanover, Germany( 20-23 October 2026).
“ The HMI redefines the press operating experience by transforming the relationship between the user and the technology through an app-based architecture. Developed entirely by AIDA Europe, it transforms the press operating experience and the interaction between operator and machine by bringing the familiarity and simplicity of modern consumer technology into the industrial environment,” AIDA told ISMR.
“ Functioning much like an industrial smartphone at the machine, the interface breaks down the complexity of press operation into dedicated, intuitive and instantly recognisable applications, enabling users to access the functions they need quickly and naturally. Every machine function, from die management and motion control to cam programming and diagnostics, is handled through its own dedicated application,” it added.
App-based architecture
This philosophy is supported by a proprietary AIDA user interface, developed entirely in-house, including iconography, information hierarchies, colour-coding systems and ergonomic design principles. By retaining full control over both software development and user experience design, AIDA ensures complete alignment with its product philosophy while remaining independent from third-party HMI software providers.
“ A further benefit of the platform is its standardisation across the entire AIDA product range. Regardless of press type or tonnage, operators interact with the same interface, enabling customers with multiple machines to significantly reduce training requirements and increase workforce flexibility. An operator trained on one AIDA press can seamlessly operate any other AIDA machine, minimising errors associated with changing equipment and improving operational efficiency,” explained the Italian press specialist.
At the same time, the architecture has been designed with scalability in mind and can be expanded through customer-specific applications developed to address unique production requirements. These tailor-made apps are integrated into the platform, transforming the HMI into an evolving digital platform that grows together with a user’ s process expertise and operational needs.
AIDA’ s stand E81 in Hall 27 at EuroBLECH will showcase the new AIDA HMI as well as AIDA’ s complete range of stamping solutions. These include servo and mechanical transfer presses, servo and mechanical progressive presses, highspeed automatic presses for motor core laminations and precision forming presses. n
