From heavy plate to precision component
Burrs, dross, component distortion and extreme weights make heavy plate processing particularly demanding. Hans Weber Maschinenfabrik GmbH( WEBER) has stepped up to the challenge with process technology and intelligent automation which, it says, contributes to improved quality, productivity and process reliability.
“ At EuroBLECH 2026, we will present our MK-P2CP2, a robust machine solution for deburring and edge rounding for demanding metal parts. Our patented planetary head technology enables multi-directional edge processing. Our exhibition portfolio is complemented by solutions for thin sheet processing, wet processing and bottom-side processing, as well as the new P3 planetary head for large edge rounding,” it said.
“ A particular strength in demanding heavy plate applications is WEBER MK Float. Its floating processing units automatically follow the actual component contour and compensate for distortion and thickness variations of up to ten millimetres. Even heavily distorted flamecut and plasma-cut parts can be processed directly, without time-consuming straightening beforehand. This delivers repeatable results and improves process reliability,” it added. WEBER will demonstrate intelligent automation of sheet metal processing at the exhibition with a compact system for small parts. A 3D vision system detects the position and geometry of each component and enables suitable gripping points to be calculated automatically. The robot operates teach-free, so new part variants do not have to be programmed individually. This makes automation economical, said WEBER, even for small batch sizes and frequently changing geometries.
The concept is scalable: WEBER combines vision, robotics, gripping and conveyor technology with the processing machine. The spectrum ranges from handling small sheetmetal parts to the automated loading, turning, recirculation and stacking of heavy plate components.

Tube bending and feeding technologies
At FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas, USA( 21-23 October 2026), Schwarze-Robitec will showcase custom tube bending technology for demanding manufacturing environments. The company will demonstrate, on stand N9111, how machine concepts and designs can be adapted to meet various production requirements. Köberlein Technologies will also present a proprietary component feeding system. The two machine builders, both part of the Daum Group, are targeting a growing U. S. market with high demands for quality, precision and customisation.
Schwarze-Robitec develops tubebending machines and systems tailored to specific customer requirements. They are designed for continuous operation under heavy conditions. The Cologne-based machine manufacturer implements highly customised machine concepts and designs with flexible levels of automation to meet stringent demands for precision and repeatability in series production.

Köberlein’ s feeding technology features a prototype machine with a stepfeeder— a proprietary development by the company.“ Compared to the circular and spiral conveyors that dominate North-American production environments, components are guided in a linear structure, transported in a controlled manner and handled much more gently. The system operates more quietly, generates less vibration and can be scaled up with additional conveyor lanes. Our machines offer greater flexibility, especially when handling high volumes or large-volume components,” added the company. n
