Sheet metal and joining showcase at Blechexpo / Schweisstec 2025
The global sheet metal working and joining technology industries will meet at Blechexpo / Schweisstec 2025 in Stuttgart, Germany( 21-24 October 2025). The 17th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheetmetal working and the 10th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology unites two key production technologies. Key features of the event include nine exhibition halls, innovations for the“ best Award 2025”, a supplementary congress programme and Career Friday.
“ Well over a thousand exhibitors have already booked their booth floor space. We’ re still processing additional RFQs every day,” said Georg Knauer, project manager at trade show promoter, P. E. Schall.“ Nine jam-packed exhibition halls will focus on all aspects of current and future sheet metalworking. The industry can look forward to future-oriented solutions and new developments, which will be impressively presented by our exhibitors.”
The clear-cut thematic structure enables specialist visitors to discover systems covering the entire value chain. Topics at the event range from thermal and mechanical sheet metal processing, along with system peripherals including controllers and software( as well as solutions for handling and feeding), up to quality assurance.
“ Visitors will benefit from the clear-cut layout of the exhibition halls: sheet metal, pipe and profile processing will be in halls 1, 3, 5 and 7. Halls 4 and 6 are reserved for stamping technologies. Cutting, joining and fastening technologies will be presented in hall 9. Hall 8 will focus on pressing and forming technologies. Steel and metal services, as well as surface finishing technology, will be addressed in hall 10,” said P. E. Schall.
“ Companies are concerned primarily with increasing their efficiency,” said Georg Knaur.“ Rising cost pressure and the ongoing shortage of skilled personnel continue to fuel further automation. In addition to sheetmetal working itself, the integration of peripherals is also becoming increasingly important,” added Knauer.
The“ best Award”
As an innovation engine, the“ best Award” has become a traditional part of the supplementary programme at Blechexpo / Schweisstec. Companies have submitted entries for five competition categories including sheet metal, pipe and profile processing; pressing and forming technologies; stamping technologies; cutting, joining and fastening technologies as well as steel / metal services and surface finishing technologies.
The competition finalists have now been selected. An independent jury of experts will choose the winners in each category. The winners will receive their awards at a ceremony marking the end of the first day of the trade fair at 4pm on 21 October 2025.
Career Friday
The topics covered by Blechexpo / Schweißtec are clearly focused clearly on the future. Together with the exhibitors, the trade fair promoters are launching Career Friday on 24 October 2025. In keeping with the motto“ Shape your dreams, metal your future”, it aims to provide young people with insights into routine daily work and enable them to establish personal contacts with companies.
“ This campaign makes it possible for pupils, students, teachers, university representatives and young professionals to gather first-hand information about specific job profiles and career opportunities. Interested parties are cordially invited to discover technologies and future opportunities in the sheet metal working industry at Career Friday,” said PE Schall.
Exhibitors will provide information and insights at their booths. Participants will be able to meet with industry experts, ask specific questions, experience technology and explore potential career paths during guided tours at 10am and 1pm.
Congress and Forum
A comprehensive supplementary programme will also be held over all four days at Blechexpo / Schweißtec 2025, where visitors can discover the latest developments and exchange ideas in direct discussions with experts.
The trade show seeks to provide practical solutions to the challenges being faced by the industry. Experts will speak at the opening press conference on the topic of“ AI in Sheet Metal Working: to What Extent Does it Support Automation and Process Chaining?”.
During all four trade show days, there will be a daily presentation forum. The“ best CONGRESS” with Stahl-Kommunikation on the second day of the trade show( 22 October 2025) will also be held. The topic“ Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Sheet Metal Working / Joining Technology” will be discussed during this congress.
“ Participants will be able to familiarise themselves with AI technologies and their potential in manufacturing, and exchange ideas based on best practice examples,” concluded the trade show organiser.
