FACE TO FACE
Asia is also an area of opportunity where we can score points with our high-end systems, especially CMT. However, the standard and manual segments are strongly represented by local suppliers.
Europe is our home market( where we see our highest market share), which means that we cannot achieve any leaps in growth. However, we naturally see continued growth opportunities with our solutions.
ISMR: Which issues are of prime importance for your customers and how are you addressing these issues for them?
HL: Quality is our undisputed top priority: the quality of the weld seam and the quality of the welding machine. With our 75 years of experience in welding, we are confident in both. In our research and development, an extremely stable arc is always a priority regardless of whether it’ s for small, compact manual welding machines or large automation systems. Quality is paramount.
We also offer full service worldwide to customers. Around the globe, our numerous subsidiaries and certified service partners provide support with maintenance and repairs. Easy maintenance and repair is also a priority. Even during the development phase, we take into account the ease of maintenance and repair of our machines. They are easy to open with standard tools, and all essential parts are accessible and can be replaced quickly and easily.
What also sets us apart is our long-term inventory of spare parts for our products. We always prefer to repair before throwing away. Fun fact: Some time ago, our specialists at the Steinhaus( AT) repair centre repaired a nearly 50-year-old Primus 200 welding machine from 1978.
Durability is also a key issue. Fronius machines undergo extensive testing to ensure a long product lifespan and reliability. For example, manual welding machines must function reliably in adverse weather and environmental conditions, and reliable performance is required 24 / 7 in industrial applications. Therefore, we always go the extra mile in our testing because our internal standards significantly exceed legally required limits. Our welding machines must pass impact and drop tests, humidity, cold and salt spray tests, and are thoroughly shaken, exposed to the finest metal dust and subjected to a duty cycle test.
Due to their extremely long service life, it is also very important to us that our machines are future-proof, meaning that updates or expansions can be implemented. This way, we offer customers the opportunity to keep their machines up-to-date or, if necessary, add additional features so they always have the right equipment at their disposal.
We have been a pioneer in digitalisation and connectivity since the introduction of the TPS( 1998). Increasing standards and documentation requirements, e. g. for safety-relevant components, are challenging for industry and SMEs alike. Therefore, data recording and analysis tools( such as our WeldCube) are becoming increasingly important for our customers to ensure

Resource efficiency and decarbonisation are also becoming more important. More industries( starting with automotive production and industrial manufacturing in general) are driven by stricter standards and their own ambitious goals for reducing their carbon footprint. They therefore require data across the entire supply chain, right up to the end-of-life of machines, robots etc. We have therefore, for the first time, taken a holistic approach and conducted an LCA to not only provide our customers with the data basis, but also to work with them to become even more efficient.
ISMR: Are there any products / technologies / services that you have released, or are releasing, this year that you would like to highlight?
HL: Our highlights at SCHWEISSEN and SCHNEIDEN this week include the world premiere of a manual next-level MIG / MAG welding system and revolutionary support for manual welders. We are presenting a solution for every welding challenge— from efficient robot and cobot applications to customised automation systems.
We are also celebrating 20 years of precision with CMT, hosting live welding sessions for our guests at several stations and inviting experts to give interesting talks on the Fronius stage. Our product focus at the trade show includes the Fortis; Velo; Ignis Battery and Pathfinder. We are also showcasing Fronius welding automation and our Prototyping and Manufacturing Centre.
With our new Fortis series, we are
