FACE TO FACE

Voortman will launch the V353 large-format fibre laser cutting system at EuroBLECH this October . in other markets where we now focus and want to grow . In these markets , they are processing more and more round profiles ,” explained Rutger Voortman .
Voortman ’ s V807 robotic profile processing machine already featured a round pipe processing option . The plate cutters already offered a pipe addition . A stand-alone pipe cutting system was therefore a logical next step . However , its development would take time and Voortman was not well known in that field . The decision was therefore made to acquire Müller Opladen which , at a stroke , gave Voortman three models for pipe cutting : the entry-level MO compact Series for complex pipe cutting , the MO Classic Series pipe cutting machine and the MO Heavy- Duty series for large-diameter pipe , pressure vessels and heat exchangers .
In addition , this gave Voortman access to a production facility with an engineering hub in Germany , allowing it to recruit employees in Germany and take advantage of the supply chains there . This strengthened Voortman ’ s position in Europe .
“ The integration of our two companies is going well , both technologically and in other areas . There is now one sales organisation , and the marketing and service organisations have also merged and are working according to the same principles and with the same resources . Voortman ’ s organisation is flat , enabling quick choices and flexible operations ,” confirmed Rutger Voortman .
New technology launches
At the EuroBLECH sheet metal trade show in Hanover , Germany ( 22-25 October 2024 ), Voortman will be displaying four machines as well as its software offerings .

“ We will be launching our new V353 fibre laser cutting system at EuroBLECH . The new fibre laser cutting system , which will make its European debut at EuroBLECH , is suitable for steel suppliers and the plate processing industry . With a bed of up to 36m long , it processes plate of up to 3m wide and 40mm thick . The V353 operates autonomously , even overnight . It automatically changes nozzles and adjusts to each plate thickness . The 3D bevelling unit creates complete parts in one step , saving time . The low bed makes loading and unloading easy , even during processing , to speed up workflow ,” outlined Rutger Voortman .
