Locit ’ s comprehensive approach enhances production efficiency through 3D models , detailed drawings and close collaboration with operators , reducing errors and reliance on memory .
Advanced digital manufacturing methods have enabled the company to be agile and fleet-footed in responding to demands for new , innovative products . One such innovative product under the Pure Lockers brand , is Phone Safe . It is a wall-mounted locker that features individual compartments for students ’ mobile phones . The solution , said Locit , has resonated with educators and administrators .
A sustainable approach
Locit deploys a sustainable approach through its entire process , from supply chain and design to manufacture and delivery . It starts by using recycled steel sourced from UKbased suppliers only . 3D CAD / CAM software solutions enable the design of products with minimum waste materials .
Advanced manufacturing techniques are used to reduce energy consumption . This includes advanced sheet metal machinery for fully automated production runs , bespoke short-volume orders and R & D , and powder coating techniques that recycle waste and reuse heat between processes . Dataled manufacturing means that production is integrated with cloud-based Material Requirements Planning ( MRP ) software to optimise stock and delivery management . Finished products are delivered to customers and suppliers using recycled packaging .
In 2023 , Locit received PAS 2060 certification which deploys a holistic approach to reduce the environmental impact covering energy , supply chain , design , manufacture and packaging . Its PAS 2060 certification was independently audited by the Centre
for Assessment ( CfA ). PAS 2060 is the internationally recognised specification for carbon neutrality published by the British Standards Institution ( BSI ). It demonstrates that carbon neutrality claims are both credible and verified to increase accountability and consumer confidence .

This was a significant accomplishment for the SME manufacturer , which booked almost £ 5m of sales in its first year ’ s trading to the end of September and created 40 new jobs .
Looking to the future
Moving forward , the company plans to integrate new design concepts and software to cut wastage further and improve efficiency . It will also establish a library of approved designs for consistent and reliable documentation .
The carbon-neutral steel locker manufacturer was on course to book more than £ 6.5m in sales in its second year of trading , ending September 2024 , an increase of 40 % over the previous year . This follows investment by Arete Capital Partners , a Liverpool- and Manchester-based private capital investor , in 2022 .
“ This accelerated sales performance has been achieved through a robust order pipeline which includes orders from various industries including schools ; gyms ; industrial units ;
WATCH police ; leisure and entertainment venues ,” confirmed the company . n
