Schröder Group at EuroBLECH 2024 |

From 22-25 October 2024 , the Schröder Group will be exhibiting a selection of sheetmetal working machines on booth 11-A48 at EuroBLECH in Hanover , Germany . With a slip bending role , a motorised shear and the flexible PowerBend Professional UD folding machine , the company will be presenting solutions tailored to the needs of the sheetmetal working industry .
The focus of this year ’ s exhibition appearance will be on industrial sheetmetal working machines and automation . The highlight : a MAK 4 Evolution UD with robot module in the control system , which processes heavy sheets automatically with a robot .
The Schröder Group has teamed up with automation specialist , STARMATIK , to present

machine itself runs through the production process without any intervention from the robot . The entire automation solution is controlled via Schröder software . No knowledge of robotics is required , confirmed the manufacturer . The robot module in the Schröder POS 3000 control system will be available in future for all machines in the Evolution class as well as the PowerBend series .
The Schröder Group , which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year , has also redesigned its PowerBend Industrial UD folding machine . The machine ( the bi-directional folding version at EuroBLECH processes thick steel sheets of up to 5mm thick to a length of 4000mm ) has been equipped with improved servo motors throughout .

Another Schröder highlight at EuroBLECH will be the PowerBend Professional UD folding machine for up to 3mm thick sheet metal , designed to provide flexibility for plumbing companies ( for example ). It is equipped with an up-and-down folding beam , rotating clamping beam for two tool stations , radius step bending function and suction plate stop . This equipment enables semi-automated production and quick set-up for individual pieces .

“ Automation and digitalisation are definitely part of our vision for the future ,” explained Thomas Ostermair , Sales Manager , Hans Schröder Maschinenbau GmbH . “ However , automation and flexibility can be opposites which is why , in most cases , partial automation , tool changers and
pneumatically controlled sheet holding-down device , will also be part of Schröder ’ s EuroBLECH display . The version at the show cuts steel sheets of up to 2mm thick but is also suitable for other materials . The pneumatic hold-down device can be deactivated for very soft materials .
“ With the series cutting function , up to 99 different or repetitive stop dimensions can be preset . This means that several stop dimensions can be processed in succession or repetitions can be specified for individual dimensions ,” concluded the company .

U . S . Steel launches ZMAG ™ coated steel
United States Steel Corporation ( U . S . Steel ) has announced the roll-out of ZMAG™ coated steel , a new carbon flat-rolled , coated steel product .
“ Engineered to be stronger , more resilient and more sustainable than existing products on the market today , ZMAG™ steel rises to the challenge of the world ’ s harshest conditions and introduces a new level of reliability and durability for the solar , automotive and construction industries ,” the company told ISMR .
ZMAG™ steel features a zinc-aluminiummagnesium coating that , says U . S . Steel , offers “ up to five times the corrosion resistance of conventional galvanized steel .” ZMAG™ coated steel is designed to lower maintenance costs and increase efficiency for products that must withstand long-term exposure to the elements ( such as solar frames and racking systems ). Melted and manufactured in the U . S . and coated at PRO-TEC in Ohio , ZMAG™ coated steel is produced in the USA .
