Smart manufacturing solutions at EuroBLECH 2024

Belgian sheet metal specialist , LVD Company NV , will be highlighting productivity solutions for smart manufacturing on stand F104 in Hall 12 at EuroBLECH 2024 ( 22-25 October 2024 in Hanover , Germany ). On display will be 20kW laser cutting solutions ; bending automation ; folding and software technology ( including a new fibre laser ); a high-tonnage Easy-Form press brake ; Easy- Cell robotic bending cell ; fully automatic panel bender and the latest CADMAN ® software .
“ We will unveil a new laser cutting machine offering low investment and operating costs . An ultra-practical machine , it provides reliable cutting minus costly extra features . The new laser is available in three configurations to meet price / performance needs and deliver the lowest cost per part manufacturing . It can be equipped with a MOVit Load-Assist automation system ,” said the manufacturer .
LVD will demonstrate the diversity of its laser cutting technology using a LaserCube . This compact system will feature highpower 20kW cutting , bevel cutting at a maximum bevel angle of 50 degrees , mixed gas cutting and 19 ” Touch-L control . It will showcase smart cutting with optimised sheet utilisation ; nano joints ; micro welding ; remnant creation and collision avoidance .

The Easy-Form 9 400 / 40 press brake will be the largest high-tonnage press brake that LVD has ever exhibited at EuroBLECH . The 400-ton machine is floor-mounted with no foundation required . It features a six-axis modular back gauge for high application versatility and a total of ten axes for precise bending of large and long parts . A built-in Easy-Form ® Laser adaptive bending system has been designed for repeatable accuracy for quality assurance .

robot to automate bending of parts from 100 x 100mm up to 1600 x 1200mm , weighing up to 25kg . The press brake features a 2500mm bend length , five-axis back gauge and 2500mm crowning table for a wide scope of applications . Easy-Cell features an adaptive bending system which is designed for bend angle accuracy from the first part . LVD CADMAN ® software provides rapid , simple offline programming of both press brake and robot .
LVD ’ s Multifold 2111 panel bender will demonstrate fully automatic loading , folding and stacking of workpieces up to a maximum bend length of 2100mm in material thicknesses of up to 2mm cold rolled steel with bend heights of up to 110mm . A flexible and time-efficient alternative to die bending for many applications , Multifold requires only one set of tooling ( a universal set of servo-operated , up-and-down folding blades ) to produce numerous profiles and various types of bends .
Software for process flow
LVD ’ s latest software releases will also be demonstrated , including CADMAN ® -FLOW .
“ CADMAN-Flow introduces a new generation of CADMAN offering improved process overview , smarter tool optimisation , easy ERP connection and faster , more efficient bend solutions . CADMAN-FLOW improves the speed and flexibility of the process flow from a 3D file to machine code to final product , offering significant gains in productivity ,” concluded LVD .
LVD is a well-known manufacturer of sheet-metalworking equipment including laser-cutting systems ; punch presses ; pressbrakes ; automatic and semi-automatic panelbenders ; guillotine shears and automation systems integrated to and supported by its CADMAN ® software suite . n

Boosting energy efficiency for deepdraw presses

With its servo-hydraulic drive solution , Bosch Rexroth aims to increase efficiency in sheetmetal forming . It is one of the world ’ s leading suppliers of drive and control technologies .
“ Recuperation ( energy recovery ) can increase the energy efficiency of deep drawing presses by up to 30 per cent . The modular design simplifies engineering and installation for the machine manufacturer . End customers also benefit from reduced oil volume and smaller installation space . Sheet metal can be formed with increased productivity and quality . At the same time , the solution uncovers more opportunities for digitalisation . End users can minimise downtimes with condition monitoring , for example ,” outlined the manufacturer .
“ The servo-hydraulic drive modules comprise a servo-hydraulic pump unit and control block which can be used to supply the die cushion and upper ram , as required . If both servo-hydraulic solutions are operated with a common electric drive system , a deep drawing press achieves energy savings of up to 30 percent compared to a conventional hydraulic press with valve control ,” explained Bosch Rexroth .
“ The servo-hydraulic drive solution also unlocks additional possible savings by minimising the cooling requirements of the hydraulic unit . As a result , the power unit can be smaller and , in some cases , work without any cooling ( which further reduces investment and operating costs ),” it added .
The servo-hydraulic drive also enables databased analyses for process optimisation and condition monitoring to minimise downtimes . n
