Swedish CIDAN Machinery Group offers different types of metal bending machines and sheet metal folders with benefits such as folding complex profiles , heavy material and bending both up and down . At its factory in Götene , Sweden , CIDAN produces modern folding machines for sheet metal profile production , flexible sheet metal storage systems and guillotine shears . CIDAN is part of the globally active CIDAN Machinery Group , which also includes FORSTNER ( coil lines ), nuIT ( software ), Göteneds and THALMANN ( long folding machines ).
At this October ’ s EuroBLECH exhibition in Hanover , Germany , it will be highlighting its FORMA Z32 folding machine with new brush table for sensitive materials . The newly developed upper beam makes the FORMA- Z32 suitable for folding cassettes , said the manufacturer . The new brush table protects surface-sensitive sheets and materials .
“ Folding both up and down , the FORMA- Z folder eliminates the need to flip material , providing time-efficient folding of complex parts using one operator . The Combi beam rotation between two tooling set-ups and the unique geometry gives users unrivalled working space . The automatic tool locking is fast and has features that make tool change very ergonomical . The folding beam has automatic crowning , automatic folding centre adjustment and automatic sheet thickness adjustment . The large number of vacuum grippers holds the part steadily , anywhere on the back gauge . The back gauge comes in many designs ,” commented CIDAN .
“ Our TD Double Folder utilises 50mm synchronised torsion drive shafts on the folding and upper beam movement . Due to the five torsion shafts , all movements in the bending process are precisely controlled and create complete parallelism along the entire length of the machine . The incredible accuracy of this double folder comes from the rotary encoders application directly on the torsion shaft . The synchronised distribution of force to the machine completely eradicates the ‘ twisting ’ that generally occurs over time . That means the TD metal double folder will

produce an accuracy of +/ - 0.5 ° from its first fold to its last ,” outlined CIDAN .
The FX32 folder , with a rotating combi beam and nuLINK control system ( with newly developed software for folding cassettes ) is designed to be versatile . CIDAN ’ s PRO Z is a an up-down metal folding machine for industrial applications . This folder is suitable for folding complex profiles and heavy material ( 3200-4100mm lengths ).
Other folders in CIDAN ’ s range include the CIDAN MEGAPRO folder with intelligent functions such as automatic adjustment of the folding centre , sheet thickness and crowning as well as an automatic tool-locking system . With its dual servo-driven motors for both clamping and folding beams , it produces 60 tons of clamping pressure .
The CIDAN FX PLUS folder is equipped with automatic bend centre and sheetthickness adjustment , while the CIDAN FX Combi series metal is a folding and bending
machine in one . Other folders include the FS , FS Plus , F Series ( with 150mm opening height ) and the CIDAN MFB manual machine .
The TC double folder offers the VFD Design principle , offset folding beam geometry , fully automatic gripper system , DFT drive and multi-zone folding beam crowning . The TZ long folder offers the VFD design principle ; control shaft technology ; newly designed clamping and offset beams ; dynamic crowning system and the new longitudinal slitter .
Erbend Makine , which manufactures different types and models of manual and CNC sheet-metal folders , as well as shears , is based in Bursa ( Turkey ). At this October ’ s EuroBLECH sheet metal exhibition in Hanover , Germany , it will showcase the Erbend Dual MFA Up / Down folder .
At Blechexpo last November in Germany , it showcased its DUAL MFA 3230 CNC Servo Up-Down sheet metal folder , with pneumatic quick tool clamping system for rapid tool setup . It also features a back gauge table with suction cups .
Other combination models include the MFD CNC motorised combi sheet metal folder ( for materials of 0.3-3mm thickness ( 2550-4200mm lengths ) and the MFA CNC servo combi sheet metal folder ( 0.3 -4mm thickness and 2050-4200mm lengths ). It also offers a range of single-station sheet metal folders and the UFA manual metal folder .
