The standardised scaling of the diagrams allowed the results to be compared directly : in the vibratory stress-relieved component , the sagging was only a third that of the stress
relief-annealed component . From this , Jebens deduced that the residual stresses in the vibratory stress-relieved component are lower than in the stress-relief-annealed component .
A theoretical study conducted a few years ago by VSR with RWTH Aachen University confirms this result in practice . The Aachenbased researchers used FEM calculations to prove that vibratory stress relief is more effective than stress relief annealing . These findings were also confirmed by users such as AUDI , Ford and ThyssenKrupp in their own practical tests and they have been using the process ever since .
From the perspective of Jebens and VSR Industrietechnik , vibratory stress relief is as safe a method as conventional stress relief annealing but outperforms it in most cases , due to its many advantages . n
