Based on the concept of a “ place for co-creating the future of metalworking ’, Japanese sheet- metalworking specialist , AMADA , set up its new AMADA Global Innovation Centre ( AGIC ) this year . Opened by AMADA President & CEO , Tsutomu Isobe , on 3 February 2023 at the company ’ s head office in Isehara City , Kanagawa Prefecture ( Japan ), the AGIC facility has earned Science-Based Targets Initiative ( SBTi ) certification to support research and verification .
However , to further the concept of futureoriented manufacturing , AMADA is also using the AGIC to introduce new technologies , software and machine tools to its customers . The AGIC showcases AMADA ’ s history and future manufacturing vision , as well as its latest technical innovations , inviting global collaboration with its customers .
The AGIC concept also represents a step change in the way that AMADA is positioning itself for the future . It intends AGIC to play a central role for its solution centres and technical centres in Japan and overseas . ISMR therefore decided to explore how the philosophy , culture and ambition behind AGIC will help AMADA to forge closer links with its customers , staff and partners around the world .
