FOCUS ON BENDING is applied . AMADA has now expanded ATC technology to its mid-range line-up .
With its new Blank-to-Bend concept , AMADA linked punching and cutting systems plus automatic press brakes via a warehouse storage system to form a highly automated end-to-end solution . It also offers press brake models such as HG Series , HG-1003ATC , HRB- ATC , HD-NT Series and EG Series . Product Designer software can unfold 3D sheet metal models and automatically apply unfolding data and feature recognition ready for manufacture . Its EG series electric press brake incorporates AMADA ’ s patented dual servo technology . Its HFE 3i , HG ATC and HG ARs press brake series encompass most bending scenarios .
Amada ’ s compact HFE- 5012M2 press brake ( 50 tonnes of bending force ) has been developed to offer rapid bending of small parts with medium complexity . The open height of the frame has been increased , enabling deeper box bending . AMADA ’ s FAST ( Finger with Active Security Technology ) stop fingers can be fitted onto most new AMADA bending machines . Its EG-6013AR bending cell features a robot with five automatic grippers and tool changer for fully automated production processes .
On 3 February 2023 , AMADA opened the “ Amada Global Innovation Centre ” (“ AGIC ”) at the company ’ s head office in Isehara City , Kanagawa Prefecture , Japan .
Turkish manufacturer Baykal ’ s APHS range of press brakes is highly versatile ( Performer , PRO and Premium series ). Models include the APHSH Hybrid press brake and the APHS PRO press brake . It has pioneered development of a fully automatic pole cutting and bending machine and , for its manufacturing operations , utilises three factories which together combine a production area of 70,000 square metres , making it one of Europe ’ s largest facilities for sheet metalworking and fabricating machinery .
“ Our biggest press brake can bend 50mm stainless steel ; a testament to our ‘ Think Big ’ motto ,” it told ISMR .
Blech-Tec GmbH manufactures mini bending machines . The BT-500 is a folding machine and press brake in one . Combining both bending processes offers flexibility , as both processes have their geometric advantages . The BT-150 is designed as a table machine for even smaller parts .
At the EuroBLECH exhibition in Germany last October , Boschert GmbH / Gizelis showcased a new real-time automatic angle measurement and correction system on its Gizelis G-BEND PLUS 3140 press brake . The G-BEND PLUS press brake features a singleaxis back-gauge system and bending length of 3400mm / 4400mm .
“ Our electrical G-Electrobend press-brake line ( also for 3m machines ) is more energyefficient than hydraulic machines ,” it told ISMR at the show .
The G-FLEX press brake has a hydraulic system , two-axis back gauge system and CNC crowning . The Gizelis ROBOBEND 2 fully automated robotic bending cell incorporates Automatic Tool Change ( ATC ) with bending and palletising procedures as a turnkey solution . The system boasts a smart design and can be operated in three different modes . There is large capacity for tooling ( punches and dies ) which can be organised in a smart tooling warehouse .
Manufacturers need to be able to switch from big to small runs with maximum flexibility without sacrificing productivity
Boschert / Gizelis has also produced a dynamic hybrid-drive press brake , the Quick- Bend , with purported energy savings of up to 80 %. The bending speed range is 8-10mm / s and repeatability is +/ - 0.02mm . Other Boschert models include the G-Master and G-HD hydraulic press brakes .
Swiss sheet-metal specialist , Bystronic , recently introduced the new ByBend Star 40 and 80 ; two mobile press brakes with a new design and a new drive system . The Dynamic Drive System concept allows for dynamic bending sequences without energy loss . Both press brakes supply the exact force required for each bent part . Added to this are intelligent functions such as the Energy Saver and an automatic start-stop function .
“ For parts of up to about 1,500mm in bending length and a maximum thickness of 20mm , you do not actually need a largescale bending station , but rather a small and versatile powerhouse ,” it told ISMR . “ The new servo hydraulics enable bending speeds of up to 30mm per second .”
The ByBend Star 120 press brake , for the small-to-medium-sized parts segment , has a minimal space requirement . It is designed for a wide range of sheet thicknesses as well as materials in higher-tensile strength classes .
“ The ‘ Laser Angle Measuring System ’ ( LAMS ) function guarantees the bending result from the first part . With the ‘ FastBend Plus ’ function , there is no need for time-consuming bend angle measurements . Bending users now save up to 30 % energy and get 20 % more speed in return , thanks to the energyefficient servo hydraulics ,” explained the manufacturer .
Bystronic ’ s new ByBend Smart increases the flexibility and speed of bending . The machine ’ s main drive is only active when the machine is in operation . The insert and stroke length expansion extends the insert height for bending tools from 480 to 580mm .
Bystronic ’ s Xpert 40-tonne , one-metre ‘ plug and play ’ press brake has already won a German design award and is designed for rapid , efficient parts production . A new Mobile Bending Robot is available for feeding the Xpert 40 , turning it into a compact , automated bending cell for producing 3D sheet-metal components . The press brake also features new optical tool detection .
Bystronic ’ s Xpert Pro press brake has now been equipped with the LAMS 4.1 angle measurement system ’ s springback compensation for bending sheet metal . The Modular Tool Changer is an automation solution for the Xpert Pro press brake , designed to increase the productivity of the bending process “ by up to 30 per cent .” The Xpress press brake features the ByVision Bending user interface and ByMotion drive control . Options such as a mechanical crowning system and lower beam can be configured , if required .
Cincinnati Incorporated ( CI ) is a U . S . -based , build-to-order machine-tool manufacturer with over 125 years in the industry . At its modern Ohio-based facility near Cincinnati , it develops and builds custom software , laser cutting systems and automation equipment as well as metal fabrication equipment ( including press brakes , shears and powder metal presses ). It also produces its own linear motors , controls and software . Its press brakes include the
ADIRA robotised press-brake solution .
