Large-format laser cutting at Blechexpo 2023
Spanish machine-tool and software manufacturer , TECOI Advanced Plate Processing Systems , will be showcasing its latest advances in large-format laser cutting at the Blechexpo 2023 exhibition in Stuttgart , Germany ( 7-10 November 2023 ).
On the company ’ s stand 1108-2 in Hall 1 , visitors will be able to see innovations such as its exclusive TWIN DISK system , featuring two independent heads simultaneously working on the same gantry , to double the productivity of a laser cutting system .
“ The combination of TWIN DISK with our five-axis bevelling system ( BEVEL ARC ) makes it possible to produce several parts with complex geometries in extremely short times , breaking production records for a large-dimension laser machine ,” highlighted the company .
Another TECOI development is its exclusive DRILTEC PLUS , a multi-tool machining head able to carry out drilling , tapping and countersinking operations . It was developed by TECOI to extend the versatility of its laser cutting stations . TECOI ’ s LS and MB-L series machines have been designed for the solid state / fibre laser cutting of sheet metal , whereas its FL series is for tube and profile cutting using solid state lasers .
Although the manufacturer ’ s presence at Blechexpo will focus mainly on its laser developments , its stand at Blechexpo will also highlight TECOI ’ s latest plasma cutting and heavy-duty machining equipment . The company also offers a range of ancillary equipment such as automated plate storage systems , cutting tables , tube lathes and waste disposal / fume extraction systems . n

FANUC previews new CNC system and robots
The focal point of FANUC ’ s 1,444m ² stand at EMO Hannover 2023 ( 18-23 September 2023 ) was a sneak preview of the company ’ s new FS500i-A series CNC which is currently in development . A new HMI simplifies use for experienced and new FANUC operators . For every task , all interactions can be handled on one screen so that there is no need to jump between several of them . “ The PMC ( programmable machine control ) can be programmed with Structured Text and the CNC supports any machine kinematics . Although the new CNC is still under development , some of its many features are already available . The enhanced versions of our existing advanced FS30i / 31i / 32i-B Plus and standard FS0i-F Plus CNC solutions already include functions for energy saving and carbon neutrality , as well as digital twin technology , which will also feature in the FS500i-A for direct end-user benefits ,” commented Fanuc .
The new CPU , combined with newly introduced features and capabilities , is designed to improve basic performance and drive cycle time reductions .

were suitable for beginners and experienced programmers , either using the traditional iPendant or a tablet TP . Among new FANUC robots making their debut appearance at EMO was the CRX-25iA collaborative robot in 30kg payload option , the FANUC M-710iD / 50M with its curved arm and the CR- 35iB collaborative robot in heavy-duty , 50kg option .
FANUC ’ s IoT highlight at EMO was the introduction of a new ‘ FIELD system ’ version . FIELD system Basic Package is an on-premise platform ( no Internet connection required ) that allows manufacturers to collect , analyse and utilise data from connected machines and devices , offering compatibility with FANUC products up to 20 years old and extending its support to third-party products .
“ It offers rapid set-up , easy-to-use templates and regular update capability which enables users to realise continuous production improvements in line with Kaizen strategies ,” explained Fanuc .
EMO visitors could also discover more about the company ’ s latest service offer enhancements , including new features of the FANUC Assisted Reality ( FAR ) remote support tool . For instance , the company showcased tablet-sharing on a CRX collaborative robot with direct call capability to FANUC . FANUC also highlighted its service portfolio , FANUC Academy training courses and FANUC Care , a new full-service package that is similar in effect to an extended warranty . n
