FACE TO FACE
An automated line incorporating a Thalmann double folder will be showcased on CIDAN ’ s stand at EuroBLECH 2022 .
Thalmann already share a great history together . Over a period of many years , both companies have established a number one position for long folders in the Americas . With Thalmann now part of the CIDAN group , I am convinced that CIDAN will make Thalmann stronger and Thalmann will make CIDAN stronger . We look forward growing CIDAN ’ s business and the business of our customers ,” commented Petter Hjelmqvist , CEO and President of CIDAN Machinery Group . The Swiss company has a strong track record of bringing innovations to the market that are designed to offer significant efficiency improvements , cost reductions and higher precision / flexibility of the folding process . Thalmann ’ s base in Frauenfeld , Switzerland , will remain a hub for longfolder innovation and production . Its 50 employees have now joined CIDAN Machinery Group and remain employed at Frauenfeld .
“ I am so happy about this acquisition . The onboarding process for the Thalmann team and its product range has gone very well . Everyone in the Group is so enthusiastic about having Thalmann on board . It makes the Group even more innovative . We like to be a partner to our customers , providing help across all areas ( not just on folding , cutting or slitting etc ). Rather than pushing one type of product , we offer the best combination of technologies to fit their needs ,” added Petter Hjelmqvist .
double folder , will be showcased on CIDAN ’ s stand at the EuroBLECH 2022 exhibition in Hanover , Germany ( 25-28 October 2022 ). The Group will showcase modern and automated sheet metal processing and sheet-metal profile production with a line-up of folders , coil processing ( cut-to-length equipment ) and automation software .
“ The Thalmann TD double folder ( fully automated ) features sideloading , flipping and sheetunloading devices designed to save time and money ( especially
personnel costs ), because the entire system can be operated by just one employee ,” commented Raphael Büchel , Sales Director , CIDAN Machinery Group .
“ The automated line at EuroBLECH will also feature the CIDAN FORMA Z folder ( with unique geometry and nuLINK bending software ); new Evolution IT production management software and an automatic slitting line from Forstner ( where users can switch between six different coil types ). We will demonstrate the entire process from beginning to end on the line at EuroBLECH i . e . programming ; cutting ; slitting and folding up to the final profile ,” he confirmed .
CIDAN ’ s FORMA Z Up / Down folder , for mid-range and large batchwork , now boasts a 30 % improvement in speed . The design of the bending cheek enables upward and downward bending . Rotation of the upper beam between two tool sets and its geometry mean a larger workspace for operators . It also features a newly developed bending rail design with automatic crowning , in combination with automatic adjustment of the bending centre and sheet thickness . Tool locking is automatic to facilitate handling and increase safety . The stop can be automatically adjusted up and down for greater flexibility . Non-parallel products can be bent by using the bending rail as a stop .
The combination of CIDAN , Forstner , nuIT and Thalmann in one group has enabled CIDAN to further integrate a complete sheet-metal production line . Industry 4.0 and digitalisation , combined with the in-house development of integrated software solutions , offers benefits such as the optimisation of supply chain processes and lean manufacturing , as well as
Automation in focus
Together CIDAN , Thalmann , Forstner and nuIT will also be stronger in automation . The Group has already developed a flexible , fully automated line for sheet-metal trims where nuIT software is ‘ the brain ’ designed to simplify and rationalise metal trim production .
