Stamping solutions

In 2021 , AIDA presented its new DSF-NE2 , a monolithic two-point servo press that combines the high rigidity of the monoblock frame with the flexibility of the freely programmable servo movement of AIDA DSF ® technology .
“ Our DSF-NE2 presses are equipped with our own low RPM , high-torque servomotor for metalforming applications . Each frame component is designed and verified with FEM systems and manufactured to reduce deflection under load below 0.1mm / m . Thanks to a unique design and the latest manufacturing features , the DSF-NE2 press series guarantees low-noise , lowvibration and multiple variedlength forming , optimising all

manufacturing and maintenance operations , and ensuring flexible applications and long die life spans . This series of presses can reach speeds of 120 strokes per minute ,” it told ISMR .
EuroBLECH 2022 in Hanover ( 25-28 October 2022 ) will be AIDA ’ s opportunity to provide visitors with information about the new DSF-NE2 servo press as well as on the AIDA press line series ( including servo-
presses , high-speed automatic presses for lamination and precision forming presses ).
During the exhibition , AIDA will also present its new AET electronic transfer system , an after-market solution which enables handling of blanks and parts in multistation or interconnected presses .
“ AETs can be easily integrated with all types of mechanical and servopresses , from any manufacturer , and are perfectly suitable for retrofitting operations on existing machines ,” AIDA highlighted .
The stamping specialist will also arrange live demonstrations of ADMS ( AIDA digital motion system ), the solution it developed to analyse and optimise transfer management for servo and mechanical presses . Visitors to its stand at EuroBLECH will also be able to see demonstrations of AiCARE ( AIDA information care system ), enabling users to receive information and data from AIDA servo and mechanical presses on machine status and quality of production .

Protection from steel corrosion

China Merchants Cruise Shipbuilding ( CMCS ) is one of the leading manufacturers of expedition ships , floating platforms and floating cranes . To date , the company had outsourced corrosion protection for the steel plates and beams required for its products . With the expansion of its business activities into passenger and cruise ships , the company had to abandon this outsourcing policy . The construction of a mid-sized passenger ship alone requires 25,000 metric tons of steel .
For this reason , the company looked for a partner on the design and installation of a preservation line . After extensive analysis of the market , the Chinese shipbuilder chose Rösler ( whose headquarters are in Untermerzbach , Germany ) as its supplier for this crucial investment .
“ Fully automatic interlinked steel preservation offers competitive advantages The 180m-long preservation solution was specially engineered to meet the requirements of CMCS . It includes a plate section ( the so-called main line ) and a steel beam section , from which the shotblasted beams are fed into the main line . This preservation line features two roller conveyor shot-blast machines , equipped with Gamma 400G and Rutten 400 HD turbines , a straightening system for the beams and up to 12,000mm long plates . It also includes a fully automatic coating system including a paint supply unit and a thermal post-combustion system . All these line components are digitally connected and integrated into the production control system of the shipyard ,” explained Rösler .
The intelligent control system allows fully automatic processing of the steel components from the loading to the unloading zone at a speed of five metres per minute . n

Virtual Reality hub for COE

At this November ’ s FABTECH in Atlanta , COE Press Equipment will feature a group of technology hubs that together create the COE EXPERIENCE . Visitors can take part in a Virtual Reality ( VR ) demonstration , visit the Smart Manufacturing Decisions station or participate in other demonstrations that illustrate COE ’ s equipment and service differentiators .
The “ COE EXPERIENCE ” is intended to help manufacturers make the best coil processing equipment decision for their needs , the coil processing specialist told ISMR .
A CTL Virtual Reality demonstration .
“ At the VR hub , visitors will be virtually transported to a fabrication facility to experience an operating COE 72 ” Cut-to- Length ( CTL ) line . At another station , COE team members will take specifications from visitors and run data through the company ’ s proprietary Science Behind the Solution™ calculators , assisting in better decision-making regarding equipment needs and performance optimisation ,” explained the manufacturer .
“ For example , our Coil Calculator analyses coil weight based on width / ID / OD , as well as providing coil run-time and parts per coil , allowing customers to better plan production and quote new work ,” it told ISMR . COE ’ s “ Everything Coil ” educational series helps stampers and fabricators to understand the basics of coil processing equipment . n
