Eagle Lasers ’ profit / cost calculations per part vs laser power .
which the machine can decelerate into and out of an angle has a higher impact on reducing the cycle time than power or cutting speed . Improved cycle time means more parts per hour , so acceleration is a crucial parameter to consider when choosing a machine .
To add to the benefits , shorter work cycles also mean decreased energy use and fewer consumables resulting in reduced operational expenses and a lower cost per part . This translates into higher profits , which we are all pursuing .
ISMR : Where do you see the greatest challenges and opportunities ?
ISMR : Which trends and growth areas do you see developing in global laser-cutting markets ?
CB : Currently , the two biggest trends are towards higher laser powers and the implementation of automation systems .
Not long ago , few fibre laser manufacturers were betting on high powers . Back then , highwattage laser systems were introduced by pioneers like Eagle because it was clear to us from the start that this technology would be a game-changer . Our focus from the beginning was to build the ideal fibre laser machine ; powerful , fast and reliable , able to produce more in less time , with less maintenance , less energy consumption and more flexibility regarding materials and thicknesses .
However , it ’ s impossible to speak about high powers without mentioning motion dynamics , and we have raised the bar on both flanks . The Eagle iNspire system delivers 6G acceleration , a cutting speed of up to 150m / min . and a 350m / min . positioning speed , maintaining accuracy and reliability even at 30kW .
Understanding that power and motion

dynamics work hand-in-hand is crucial . If we ’ re talking about high wattages , we need to consider dynamics . Without acceleration that rises to the challenge , it ’ s not possible to exploit the full capabilities that high powers have to offer . A simple way to understand the benefits of dynamics is if you double the acceleration , you are technically halving the time that it takes to reach a programmed speed .
Another aspect where acceleration is essential is when cutting complex shapes or dealing with arcs and corners . The rate at
CB : The biggest challenge now is production . Manufacturers worldwide are affected by the current supply chain crisis and looking for the best ways to overcome it . But , as with every crisis , it ’ s also an opportunity to improve and to develop new concepts and ideas .
It ’ s a difficult time for many markets but also a chance to move towards new technologies and more environmentally friendly processes and materials . So , we need to approach the future positively and stay flexible .
ISMR : Will we see you at the EuroBLECH sheet metal exhibition in Hanover from 25-28 October this year ?
CB : EuroBLECH is an excellent opportunity and platform to see the latest developments in the field .
We present innovations every time we are there , so everyone is invited to visit our stand E14 in Hall 15 . I urge visitors to EuroBLECH to come and see our rapid fibre laser cutting systems on our stand .
ISMR : Thank you for your time . n
