InspecVision ’ s managing director , Dr . Jan Antonis , outlines his view of sheet-metal markets , industry requirements , trends and technology advances to ISMR .

InspecVision , based in Northern Ireland , specialises in automated 2D and 3D measurement systems for the inspection and reverse engineering of sheet-metal parts at every stage of production ( parts that are flat , folded , welded or assembled ). Its inspection machinery can be used to carry out one-click , single-second field of view 2D , 2.5D and 3D measurements .

The award-winning TRUMPF partner will be bringing a host of new technology innovations for quality control , improved efficiency and waste reductions to this year ’ s EuroBLECH and FABTECH exhibitions . R & D is a key focus for the company , which is on target to make record sales in 2022 .

ISMR : Please give a brief background to InspecVision and highlight any notable successes and achievements over the past two to three years .
JA : InspecVision was founded in 2003 when my father , Mike Antonis , was managing director of FG Wilson , Northern Ireland ’ s largest sheet-metal manufacturer , and I was completing a PhD in computer vision systems
