“ Our aim is to be a global player , attract great people to work for us and continuously grow with good management of cash and revenues . Our main market is the architectural roofing sector ( with full automated lines / software ). There is a lot of potential to further exploit this market segment in Europe and the U . S .,” added Petter Hjelmqvist .
The Group has also moved its folder technology further into traditional press-brake markets and is currently exploring more industrial markets ( with partners ).
“ We have increased sales into more industrial markets over the last few years . A large portion of our growth has been in coilprocessing markets in the U . S . and Europe . Customers now realise that using sheet-metal blanks in a line is just not efficient in terms of the amount of scrap produced . Integration with a coil line is much more efficient ; scrap and downtime are drastically reduced and the logistics are much easier ( coils take up less space ). Return on investment for these lines is possible within a year . A fully automated 300m-long coil line also needs no operator . This segment of the sheet-metal market is growing , particularly as material costs are rising so much ,” confirmed Raphael Büchel .
Software underpins this planned expansion into new markets . The Group has invested heavily in making its software products simple and easy to use for operators .

the workload of a programmer or operator . Whether they are using smartphones , tablets or desktops , the software must be responsive , easy to understand and easy to operate . The challenge is user friendliness so that users can take advantage of the software ’ s many capabilities ,” added Büchel .
One-stop partner principle
CIDAN Machinery Group ’ s one-stop partner principle encompasses sheet-metal customers of all sizes , from large and automated OEMs to small job-shops and individual roofers . Flexibility and innovation drive this approach .
“ Start-ups cannot always afford fully automated lines and we aim to be a partner to all our customers . This includes start-up roofers and smaller companies . Our aim is to grow with them as a one-stop partner . Even if someone just wants a refurbished machine , we are happy to supply this . This flexibility is very important and , in partnership with these industry newcomers , we can nurture our next generation of customers ,” concluded Raphael Büchel .
