PRODUCT REVIEWS
The ByBend Star 120 .
users to process tubes of up to 8.5 metres in length even more quickly .
“ A fully automatic set-up , with open profiles and ellipses , leads to more flexibility and quality in production . Additional options such as ‘ Laserscan ’ ( real-time compensation of tube bending to improve cutting precision ) and ‘ QuickCut ’ ( more speed for better performance by way of an additional linear axis ) further increase efficiency ,” Bystronic told ISMR .
With the new ByBend Star 120 , Bystronic will present its press brake for the small to medium-sized parts segment . Strong and compact , it is designed for a wide range of sheet thicknesses as well as materials in higher tensile strength classes .
“ The ‘ Laser Angle Measuring System ’ ( LAMS ) function guarantees the perfect bending result from the very first part . With the ‘ FastBend Plus ’ function , there is also no need for time-consuming bend
angle measurements . The system does this automatically and with extreme precision . Bending users now save up to 30 % energy and get 20 % more speed in return – thanks to the energy-efficient servo hydraulics ,” added the manufacturer .
In recent months Bystronic has invested heavily in the optimisation of its production , products , supply chains and peripheral performance optimisers . It has placed its focus firmly on sustainability as a central element of its corporate strategy . The goal is to shape a sustainable future with sheetmetal .
To this end , Bystronic has developed an ambitious sustainability strategy that is being consistently implemented across all areas . The company ’ s first sustainability report is now available and will also be presented at EuroBLECH . n
EdgeRacer ‘ the Washer ’ is available with working widths of 1,500mm or 300mm .
Washing parts before deburring
Manufacturers of sheet-metal parts normally use oil to extend the service life of their tools and increase the performance of modern laserand fibre laser-cutting systems . These residues on metal parts become undesirable after the cutting operation .
“ EdgeRacer ‘ the Washer ’ removes these oil residues and production-typical contamination in a continuous process . Operators appreciate the resulting clean and dry parts ( even with 3D contours ), that are ready for further processing . The continuous separation of oil and solids from the water-based cleaning medium extends change intervals . EdgeRacer ‘ the Washer ’ can be operated stand-alone or in line with EdgeRacer or any other deburring machine ,” explained Wöhler Brush Tech GmbH .
Sheet metal before and after cleaning with EdgeRacer ‘ the Washer ’.
“ Dirty parts are fed into ‘ the Washer ’ via conveyor where they are cleaned on both sides in one pass . Sprayed-on cleaning agent separates oil from the sheet metal . Two brushes then remove oil and solids for clean surfaces . Finally , rollers press off the last water residues . The workpieces leave the machine clean and dry , prepared for further processing . The cleaning agent preserves the surfaces for subsequent processing ,” it added .
EdgeRacer ‘ the Washer ’ is available in working widths of 1500mm ( 59 ”) and 300mm ( 11.8 ”) for cleaning smaller parts . n
