3D-Unfolder module for sheet metal parts . The new edition of the PowerBend Professional will be on display at Blechexpo .
PROfirst CAD / CAM software was due to display several new and updated modules at EuroBLECH 2020 . Its 3D-Unfolder module for sheet metal parts processes components with improved tool-based adjustment of the bending factor and is much faster with its assembly-analyser recognising identical parts . A new web calculation module enables customers to determine the prices for DXF / DWG / STEP sheet metal parts online .
Founded in 1930 , RAS builds metal bending , cutting and forming equipment , as well as fabrication software . As well as manufacturing folders , its 63.30 XL-Center control software is specifically designed for roofing and architectural profile bending . Its SMARTcut swing beam CNC shear is designed for cutting and shearing . The shear also has sheet support and a sorting system that reduces staffing requirements .
The XLTbend Updown folder , from RAS , is designed to form complex precision sheet metal parts , such as cassettes , panels and boxes , even in small batches . The oneclick programming software , front and rear operating options , as well as the hybrid gauging system , are some of the features of the XLT series .
“ When the need arises to fold complex parts , the folding direction can change several times . The UpDownBend folding system can achieve this , without the need to flip the part . The flexible system allows enables higher productivity and throughput ,” explained RAS .

The XL -Center is a folding innovation for roofing and architectural profiles with a 3200mm folding length . The RAS TURBObend is an advanced , easy-to-use folding machine designed to create accurate and repeatable parts .
The RAS MiniBendCenter is an automatic folding centre for small parts . Blanks are automatically fed , squared and measured . Tool set-up is all automatic . A manipulator moves and rotates the blank automatically to the exact position . The folding cell folds the part up and down .
For the automated bending of long profiles , the RAS XXL long folding centre automatically inserts , squares , positions to the bend line and folds the flanges up or down . This , says RAS , eliminates rotation , complicated handling and the need for a second or third operator .
Straight bends are essential for well-folded parts . The RAS Gigantic is a sturdy and solid machine with an intelligent crowning system and 120 tons of clamping pressure to fold parts of 6mm mild steel or 4mm stainless steel .
For 70 years , Hans Schröder Maschinenbau GmbH ( Schröder ) has engineered and sold machines for non-cutting sheet-metal processing in handicraft enterprises and industrial operations . It offers a wide portfolio of folding machines , including the MAKU ; MAK 4 Evolution UD ; Bending Centre ; the automated EVO-Center ; the SPB Evolution UD ; PowerBend Industrial / Professional / Universal ; the MPB ( for thin sheet metal processing ) and
a variety of smaller models . The Schröder Group will present a wide range of sheet metal working machines at the Blechexpo exhibition in Stuttgart from 26-29 October 2021 . The highlight at its booth 1709 in Hall 1 of the exhibition will be the relaunch of the PowerBend Professional , one of its most popular folding machines , with new application possibilities . Its PDC-NC motorised guillotine shear has also been improved .
“ The most noticeable change on the PowerBend Professional , a folding machine for up to 3mm thick steel sheet , is more space . The clearance for handling workpieces has been increased to 500mm clamping beam stroke – previously it was 350mm . Several drives are now completely servo-controlled , which among other things allows faster and more accurate positioning of the centre of rotation . Converter-controlled 2 × 3.0kW drives move the folding beam . A world premiere will also take place on the PowerBend Professional at Blechexpo : we will present the first optical bending angle measuring system for inline quality assurance during folding ,” the bending specialist told ISMR .
Other exhibition machines on the company ’ s Blechexpo booth will be the EVO Center industrial folder ( 4,000 × 3.0mm ) with fully automatic tool changer . The MAKU motorised folder will sport a two-axis back gauge for conical bending with which , for example , it is possible to produce wall copings , roof edge trims and verge plates . The slip bending roll type 134 will be shown with its special rolls for the production of stainless-steel formers . The 431 flaring machine and ASK 3 segmented folder will also be in display in Stuttgart .
Bending sheet steel with a thickness of up to 16mm over a working length of 3240mm is now possible with Schröder ’ s EVO Heavy Duty folder , using the swivel folding process . The MAKU is ( the company told ISMR ), ‘ the first swivel folding machine worldwide with a two-axis back gauge for automatic conical bending ’. Job and repair shops , it added , can now produce sheet metal profiles which can be ‘ expertly connected ’ to each other .
