The CEO of YSM International in India , Gregory Wilfred , outlined its latest new initiatives , as well as his views on industry trends and developments , to ISMR .

Established in 1979 , YSM International ( Yih Shen Machinery Co . Ltd ) in Taiwan has become a global specialist in stamping and bending manufacturing solutions . Its goal is to deliver fully tooled-up manufacturing processes that are pre-tested and productionready . This includes stamping and bending solutions integrated with operations needing a secondary process such as thread forming ; welding ; sub-part assembly ; riveting etc . All these solutions are delivered on a single production line able to produce parts with speeds of up to 250 parts per minute .

YSM ’ s headquarters are in Taichung ( Taiwan ) with various support facilities based in India , Indonesia , Turkey and other parts of the world . It has delivered various projects in Asia and Europe which have removed dependence on manual processes / operations by automating them .
The manufacturer has designed its stamping and forming machines to be modular , depending upon the complexity of parts or applications . Machines can be set up and each operation can run independently . This allows users the flexibility to integrate several processes into one machine with minimal adjustments . Machine modules can perform a variety of functions such as stamping ; bending ; thread forming ; welding ; screw insertion etc . YSM International aims to deliver faster set-up times for part production .

ISMR : What are your views on the current global business climate for sheet metal professionals ? What about the climate in 2022 ?
GW : 2020 has been a year like no other in recent history and the manufacturing industry has felt the impact . With declines in production , forced shutdowns in the early days of the pandemic caused a significant dip in manufacturing output levels . In the first half of the year , the climate for 2021 did not look to be any different from what we saw happening during the end of 2020 as the industry hit “ pause mode ”.
This quarter , however , we have seen demand returning to normal and detect a similar trend globally . There appears to be a rebound in the manufacturing industry and many organisations have not only gone back to
