Dustcontrol UK will be exhibiting its updated range of extraction equipment at Advanced Engineering 2021 ( 3-4 November 2021 ), a key annual exhibition in Birmingham , UK , for manufacturers and supply chain professionals . The Dustcontrol team will be showcasing the firm ’ s extensive range of fixed and mobile cyclone-based dust extractors and air cleaners at stand L92 . The latest addition to the DC Tromb mobile extraction unit family , the Hepa 13 filtered DC Tromb Turbo , will also be on display .
“ One of the major updates is the threephase turbo motor that has been added specifically to enable running for long periods without the need to switch off . The new model has also been developed with a thermal protector that activates at high temperatures , while a simpler filter change has also been included for easier and quicker removal ,” said the manufacturer .
The EX is certified to IP65 standard , meaning it can operate in explosive environments ; ATEX Zone 22 . It also has a tall cyclone , large Hepa filters and powerful motor package , allowing it to handle large amounts of debris .
The DCF Immersion , a mobile pre-separator
designed for handling metals such as titanium and magnesium and other reactive materials in a safe way , will also be on display . The material is sucked / transported through a neutralising fluid and collected in a fine net basket , staying in the fluid until emptied . The compact and portable unit can also be transported between workstations . The mobile pre-separator can be used with either a mobile dust extraction unit or a centralised system .
The team will also be exhibiting its Smart control panels suitable for central vacuum systems and the majority of more complex installations . Attendees will also be able to get up close to the DC 11-Module , an optimised stand-alone centralised vacuum unit for source extraction and industrial cleaning .
As with all Dustcontrol UK ’ s equipment , the DC 11-Module can be fitted with Hepa 13 filters , meaning exhaust air can be safely returned to the work environment .

Entry level 2D laser cutting
At Blechexpo 2021 in Stuttgart , Germany , TRUMPF will present the new generation of its TruLaser Series 1000 with ‘ more productivity , process stability and costeffectiveness .’
For the first time , the Highspeed Eco function is being used on this machine type . Here , a nozzle developed by TRUMPF directs the cutting gas specifically to the sheet metal . This is designed to increase the machine ’ s feed rate by up to 70 per cent , while reducing gas consumption by around 60 per cent . The machine , said TRUMPF , cuts sheet metal ‘ significantly faster than conventional 2D laser machines .’
“ The new series also features CoolLine technology for the first time . This function automatically sprays water mist onto the sheet to ensure optimum cooling during the cutting process . In this way , even sheets of up to 25mm thick can be cut with precision ,” TRUMPF told ISMR .
Another new feature of this machine type is the intelligent Smart Collision Prevention function . This algorithm calculates , for example , the sequence in which the parts must be cut to avoid collisions between tilting parts and the cutting head . This is designed to reduce downtime and improve production efficiency .
“ The new TruLaser Series 1000 is easy and intuitive to operate . Hundreds of cutting data for different materials and sheet thicknesses are already stored in the operating software . Thanks to its high productivity , broad range of applications and ease of operation , the new generation of the TruLaser 1000 is ideal for companies that want to get into 2D laser cutting . It also ideally complements the machine fleets of companies that already use 2D laser cutting and want to increase their capacity ,” said TRUMPF product manager , Jean-Baptiste Karam .
The TruLaser Series 1000 can be used for a wide variety of materials – it cuts mild steel , stainless steel , aluminium and copper . An automatic nozzle changer also contributes to ease of use and eliminates manual intervention , whilst reducing set-up time .
“ The new generation of machines will be available from Blechexpo 2021 in three external dimensions : 3 x 1.5m , 4 x 2 metres and 6 x 2.5 metres . Users can choose different laser powers of between three and six kilowatts for their machine . The machine can be expanded to include various automation functions for loading and unloading ,” added TRUMPF . n
