to the overall market growth of welding equipment, consumables and services in the region include the energy, construction and shipbuilding industries, besides emerging sectors such as aerospace and defence.
“ The construction of new power plants and repair and maintenance activities in the region are also likely to boost demand for welding consumables. Additionally, returning investments in oil and gas industries would further augment demand for welding consumables. It is important to note that the regional industry consists of fabrication yards and engineering workshops and not‘ welding shops’,” advised the SteelFab show organiser.
Machine Tools Middle East focus area
Metal cutting tools find wide use in almost all manufacturing industries that are flourishing in the region. Recent expansion in manufacturing and industrial production, increasing efficiency parameters and the quest to innovate are also key factors that fuel a hike in demand for tools that cut and shape rigid materials and make machines.
“ The economic diversification push has given added impetus for the metal-working industry to acquire the latest tools for both metal cutting and metal forming( including automation and robotics, tooling systems, CAD / CAM and other technologies essential for manufacturing). Machine Tools has therefore become a key segment of SteelFab displaying lathes; milling; drilling; grinding; EDMs; workcentres; tool room machinery; precision machine tools and machining centres,” commented Expo Centre Sharjah.
A special section for CNC machine tools and metal-cutting machinery and the live display area are other attractions in this special‘ Machine Tools Middle East’ focus area.
Pipe and Tube Machinery focus area
“ Demand for machinery and tools used in the bending and cutting of pipes and tubes has been on an upswing, thanks to the rising usage of pipes and tubes in hundreds
of infrastructure, petrochemical, oil & gas and industrial projects across the region,” commented Expo Centre Sharjah.
“ The Pipe & Tube Machinery segment is seen as an interesting growth segment. Since the region has the largest concentration of energy resources, governments are investing continuously in their pipeline networks to ensure a high volume-to-weight ratio, which sustains demand for pipes and tubes,” it added.
The MEP( Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) industry, another sector that sees heavy pipes & tubes consumption, is expanding fast on the back of new tourism developments and investments flowing into the construction market. With demand for electricity increasing and regional governments planning to invest billions of dollars for the addition of generating capacity, pipes and tubes are also finding higher usage in power generation.
“ For regional fabricators catering to these industries, SteelFab will be a one-stop shop for a wide range of machines and tools from handoperated machine tools to an entire production line as a complete solution for industry. The exhibit profile will cover machinery and tools for pipe & tube construction; pipe forming; pipe cutting; roll bending; tube forming; tube bending; orbital welding; pipe & tube straightening; clamps and accessories,” explained Expo Centre Sharjah.
