detection. The double sheet detector was built to ensure that only one sheet is picked up at a time, to prevent any damage to the machine,” continued Haval Othman.
The FORSTNER nuSLIT was also on display on CIDAN’ s stand at the trade show. This modular, fully automatic and programmable slitting and cut-to-length line is also equipped with a label printer. The control offers an overview of width setting, cut length and adjustment of the complete straightening unit( according to the selected material). Nesting created in nuEVOLUTION software can be sent directly to the control.
“ Rounding out our portfolio at Blechexpo / Schweisstec is intelligent nuEVOLUTION software, which enables especially efficient profile production,” CIDAN’ s head of industrial sales, Joachim Schäfer, told ISMR.“ We continue to develop software for higher power machines and our nuEVOLUTION control system now incorporates a box generator system to create four-sided boxes as well as cuts and punching.
“ We have also just launched a new COILFARM system which automatically handles coils that can be cut to length or slit. With a capacity of up to 75 coils, it houses a wide range of different materials, material thicknesses and colour variants( maximum

weight of five tonnes). We introduced this new Forstner system, primarily for sheet metalworking companies from architectural and industrial sectors, at METALCON in Las Vegas recently,” he told ISMR.
Strategic and technical focus
Both men outlined CIDAN’ s strategic and technical development focus for the Industrial segment to ISMR at the trade show.
“ Technology-wise, in the industrial segments, we are increasingly seeing more demand for automation. We are focusing heavily on this area. Customers want their machines to be faster, more capable and more sustainable. We want to be part of any smart solutions for our customers. You can see an example of this on our stand with the new upper beam of the FORMA Next folder – it is stronger and faster. Software is a huge part of the automation and user-friendliness of our machinery. In times of acute skilled labour shortages, it is crucial that machines are easier to use, set up and operate,” confirmed Haval Othman.

New features of nuLINK control

nuLINK is the next-generation control system for CIDAN F, FX and FS folders.
“ An‘ always-connected’ state means less waiting and more machine uptime. With SIM-based connectivity, nuLINK enables remote access to PLC and HMI and no physical cables. Users benefit from real-time monitoring and diagnostics, automatic backups and online software updates as well as cloud-based recovery for long-term system stability. The result? Reduced technician waiting time, quicker issue resolution and higher machine availability,” explained CIDAN.
“ The new‘ Box Generator + full 3D’ feature means that operators can create box profiles with a single click in the‘ Box Generator.’ They can start from presets or build from scratch using drag-and-drop,” it added.
Operators can also fine-tune with the features below:
■ Bevels, corner reliefs / cuts and radius shaping.
■ Segment joins, multi-select and full undo / redo.
■ Powerful point-editing and snap tools.
“ Integrated 3D visualisation validates geometry before production, enabling operators to design even complex boxes and prototypes at the machine with no external CAD / CAM required,” confirmed CIDAN.
