Hot topics
Specialist talks at the presentation forum were also very well attended again this year, P. E. Schall told ISMR.
“ The open format invites trade show visitors to participate in accordance with their specific interests and explore a given topic in greater depth,” explained Georg Knauer, project manager for the trade fair duo.“ Topics included, for example, future prospects for manufacturing, reduced physical strain in the workplace by using exoskeletons and automated quality control through the integration of AI vision. Automated grinding and holistic engineering inspired by the human body were also popular presentation topics.
“ We welcomed large numbers of expert visitors involved in everyday business operations to the trade show, as well as prominent guests and an anniversary forklift truck from Ireland,” continued the project manager.
Artificial intelligence( AI), automation, lightweight automotive construction and sustainability were also key topics at the trade show’ s opening press conference.
“ We’ re always delighted to be [ at the show ]. Blechexpo is one of our major highlights,” commented Reto Bruderer, CEO of stamping specialist Bruderer.“ The global stamping technology industry comes together

in Stuttgart, and the response has been extremely positive.”
Against a backdrop of trade tariffs causing global supply chain friction, and economic / sector slowdowns in some regions, the industry is currently experiencing difficult conditions.
“ Economy and society must withstand extraordinary turbulence. Sustainable and reliable business practices have never been so difficult— and are therefore more important than ever,” explained Bettina Schall, citing Blechexpo / Schweisstec as a platform where“ all stakeholders can discuss their pressing questions and answers in person, and on an equal footing.”
“ Blechexpo is a key meeting place for the industry. Particularly in times of increasingly complex requirements, personal interaction with customers and partners is of great importance,” emphasised Anatol Frantzen, Head, Brand and Marketing Communications, Thyssenkrupp Steel.
A career path
“ Career Friday”, held on the last day of the trade show( 24 October 2025), was another trade show highlight. It provided pupils, teachers, students, university representatives and young professionals with the opportunity to establish personal contacts in the sheetmetal working industry. Under the motto“ Shape your dreams, metal your future”, they could discover technologies and future opportunities in the sheet metal processing industry and redesign their personal career paths.
“ This career campaign was a‘ first’ at Blechexpo / Schweisstec, and it was met with an overwhelming response,” confirmed Georg Knauer. Results and success will hopefully become apparent in the coming weeks and months when the newly established contacts are followed by actual deals between interested parties and companies.
“ We very much look forward to seeing this campaign bear fruit,” said Knauer.“ We’ re also delighted that Blechexpo / Schweisstec was once again able to demonstrate the industry’ s collective strength.”
The 18th Blechexpo trade show will be held from 26-29 October 2027 in Stuttgart, Germany. n
