Embrace Steel Group strengthens Board

Embrace Steel Group( Embrace), a UK provider of steel frame building solutions throughout the UK, has announced the appointment of Ross McAdam as its new CEO with outgoing CEO, Martin Kelly, remaining with the business in a non-executive capacity to support the transition and future growth of the Group. Simon Longfield is also joining the Board as a new Non-Executive Director. Ross McAdam will continue to be supported by Chairman Richard Whiting.
“ Based in Glasgow, Ross joined Embrace as CFO at the beginning of this year and has been instrumental in strengthening the Group’ s financial and operational foundations. Ross was formerly director at Scotland-headquartered Craig Corporate, where he regularly led due diligence for complex multi-million value deals as well as buy-side advisory and capital raising services. His background in finance, investment and commercial leadership provides a strong platform for guiding

Simon brings deep leadership experience across industrial and construction businesses having worked extensively with growth-focused companies on performance improvement and long-term value creation. Embrace has acquired two heritage British steel brands since its inception; Hambleton Steel( acquired in 2022) and Shufflebottom( acquired in April 2024). It plans to continue its growth trajectory by making operational improvements throughout its existing group and identifying strategic M & A opportunities. n

New President appointed for MTA in the UK

The Manufacturing Technologies Association( MTA) in the UK has announced the appointment of Stewart Lane, Renishaw’ s head of EMEA business development, as its new President.
“ A proven leader for the manufacturing sector, Stewart
Stewart Lane, brings to the role a wealth of President, MTA.
technical expertise, commercial insight and industry leadership experience. With a degree in manufacturing systems engineering and over 30 years’ experience in the industry( 25 of them at Renishaw), Stewart has held a wide range of roles at the global FTSE250 engineering business. He also spent several years working within quality and management functions for various French and Swedish industrial businesses and speaks both languages fluently. He has also managed Renishaw’ s French sales organisation,” said the MTA.
Lane is also a past Board member of the West of England Aerospace Forum( WEAF) and joined the MTA Board in 2016, where he became Chair of the MTA’ s Education Committee and its representative on the Board of CECIMO, the European Association of Manufacturing Technologies.
In recent years, a key focus for Stewart Lane has been supporting the growth of additive manufacturing( AM). He was, until recently, Chair of both AMUK and CECIMO’ s European AM Committee. He continues to represent the UK internationally, working alongside fellow MTA Board Member, Marcus Burton, and MTA CEO, James Selka.
The MTA owns and runs the biennial MACH trade show( held in Birmingham, UK) which showcases manufacturing technologies. n

Wieland returns to Minebea Intec as CSO

Minebea Intec, a global manufacturer of industrial weighing and inspection technologies, is setting the course for further international growth. With the return of Frank Wieland as Chief Sales Officer( CSO), the company is sending a clear signal to strengthen its global sales activities.
The personnel change follows the retirement of Peter Grimley from the position of CSO. Grimley will remain with Minebea Intec as Vice Chairman and, in this role, will focus on specialised topics and support the Board in an advisory capacity.
