Bevel cutting with BEVEL-U

We responded to these developments with the innovative ELEMENT L laser cutting machine . The centrepiece of the machine is the Bevel-U bevel unit , which was specially developed for the laser process ,” added the manufacturer .
Messer ’ s ELEMENT L laser machine combines uniform piercing and faster cuts in laser precision cutting . It cuts mild steel , stainless steel and aluminium in working widths of between 1,600mm and 5,100mm and a working length of up to 25,000mm with O₂ and N₂ as well as an optional automatic gas mixing unit . A central component of the machine concept is the Bevel-U bevelling unit .
The Bevel-U enables bevel angles of between -50 ° and + 50 ° as well as different edge shapes ( I , V , Y , X , K ) on the workpiece for a subsequent welding process . The bevel angle is infinitely adjustable during the laser cutting process . Magnetic collision protection for the cutting head is as much a part of the design of the bevelling unit as a manual control panel for all drives so that adjustments can be made directly on the machine .

With its ICSORT system , Messer Cutting Systems also presented a material handling solution for sheet metal processing at this year ’ s EuroBLECH . In combination with Messer ’ s cutting systems and own software , ICSORT creates an efficient production environment . During the live demonstration of ICSORT at the trade fair stand , trade visitors were able to see the integrated software and hardware solutions in practice .
