Steel Constructions ( based at Geldermalsen in the Netherlands ) is one of the largest and most modern producers of guardrails ( or crash barriers ). Guardrails are used along motorways and are a crucial part of road safety .
The company also manufactures other traffic facilities , logistics equipment and scaffolding material . Its strength lies in its large stock and rapid delivery time . With expertise in standardised and customised steel products , Steel Constructions manages projects from design to on-site delivery for clients across various sectors .
The company has a special line for manufacturing guardrails . The guardrails come in as sheet material on large coils . The material first goes into the decoiler and is then fed through a straightener . Further down the line , the product code is engraved and the holes punched . The rollers then press the shape of the guardrail into the sheet metal . At the required distance , the machine cuts the guardrail and a robot stacks the product .
