Double-sided deburring
The new EdgeBreaker ® 3000 NEXT deburring machine for punched and laser-cut parts was the focus of ARKU ’ s presence at EuroBLECH 2024 in Hanover . This machine deburrs and rounds laser-cut parts on both sides in one single pass .
“ Thanks to a new drive solution , users save up to 40 % on energy consumption . Visitors have a direct view of the process through a large glass front , which significantly improves process control . Additional functions increase productivity , which is already 50 % higher than previous versions ,” the company told ISMR .
“ The EdgeBreaker ® 3000 NEXT removes hard burrs from both sides of the sheet metal in a single pass . With its secondary brush unit , it also edge-rounds from both sides . The double-sided deburring machine removes not only the strongest laser burrs e . g . from fibre laser cutting , but also removes splatters on the surface . The brush units deburr and edgeround sheet metal parts so that production can continue quickly , preventing bottlenecks and saving money ,” added ARKU .
ISMR also saw the universal deburring machine , EdgeBreaker ® 6000 , live in action on ARKU ’ s booth . It has been designed for deburring , edge rounding and surface finishing operations . With rotating brushes , it can
achieve a uniform edge rounding result of up to 2mm radius , according to ARKU . Its flexibility makes it an all-rounder for a wide range of processing results , shapes and dimensions ( as used in job shops ). “ Our new EdgeBreaker ® series are strong and good-looking machines , offering easy maintenance and very high deburring power as well as significant energy savings . We aim to further enhance our product portfolio in the years to come ,” confirmed Gottfried Sihler , the new Chairman of ARKU ’ s Management Board , to ISMR .
Almost all ARKU levelling and deburring machines now incorporate the ARKU Wizard , an intelligent control system that adjusts the machines to achieve the best results . Live levelling demonstrations
ARKU also held demonstrations during EuroBLECH on its FlatMaster ® 55 levelling machine , showing how important it is to level sheet metal parts after cutting to reduce unevenness and residual stresses
The FlatMaster ® series of levellers is designed to level parts , sheet and heavy plate ( with thicknesses from 0.6 up to 60mm , plus high-strength parts ( AHSS ) and entire sheet / plate with cut-outs ) with low residual stress . The part leveller incorporates ARKU ’ s 60 years of experience in manufacturing levelling machines and more than 15 years of contract levelling . The part , sheet or plate is subjected to a series of alternating bends in the hydraulic machine . The material is formed quickly , allowing stamped , laser-cut or plasma-cut parts to be levelled in seconds . In comparison , manual flattening may require anywhere from several minutes to several hours . Using ARKU ’ s FlatJack ®, the flatness control system will automatically measure the flatness directly on the leveller .
