Plans are also underway to expand this hosted buyers ’ programme to the North African region . It will target countries such as Egypt , Morocco and Iran as well as African nations like Kenya and Nigeria .
Economic outlook
On 24 October 2024 , Jihad Azour ( director of Middle East and Central Asia Department , International Monetary Fund ) pointed out that GCC countries have adapted , over the past few years , to several shocks and challenges in the region and across the world . This included the COVID-19 pandemic and oil shocks . He added that oil countries and GCC countries have maintained a certain level of growth , “ despite OPEC + and its agreements .”
“ For 2024 , our projections are better than 2023 . The growth is about 1.2 per cent in 2024 and will improve in 2025 to reach 4.2 per cent in 2025 . The main driving force behind the growth in GCC countries is the development of the non-oil economy . This is a very important element . This year has been challenging , with conflicts causing devastating human suffering and economic damage . Oil production cuts are contributing to sluggish growth in many economies in the MENA region . The recent military escalation in Lebanon has also increased uncertainty in the region . n

EVOLVE FUTURE MOBILITY SHOW 2025

Expo Centre Sharjah ( ECS ) has signed a partnership agreement with MIE Events to launch the EVOLVE FUTURE MOBILITY SHOW 2025 from 15-18 October 2025 at the Centre . Over 100 global brands are expected to participate .
This event aims to highlight the future of sustainable transportation , showcasing electric , hydrogen and hybrid vehicles and electric bikes , alongside modern solutions and technologies in the electric transport sector .
The exhibition will feature components and systems of electric vehicles such as motors , electronic control units and battery management systems . Providers of charging services and integrated renewable energy solutions will also participate , highlighting developments in the EV ( electric vehicles ) industry in general .
It aims to bolster the presence of electric vehicle manufacturers in UAE markets and accelerate the pace of EV adoption , helping to reduce the transportation sector ’ s carbon footprint .
This supports the “ UAE Net Zero by 2050 ” strategic initiative and the circular economy , while also enhancing economic development .
