A focus on technology
At EuroBLECH ( 22-25 October 2024 ) in Hanover , Germany , the CIDAN Machinery Group presented a range of new and upgraded sheet metal technologies .
The Forma Z32 up-down folding machine , with a material-friendly brush table , was shown for the first time in Hanover . It was equipped with the nuLINK control system , which can now also be used to produce boxes . The newly developed nuLINK control system is simple , rapid and visual , guiding the operator to the desired result . The user-friendly interface , accompanied by interactive graphic instructions , guides the operator through each step of the process ( from positioning , rotating and flipping to finishing the folded part ).
The latest version of CIDAN ’ s nuEVOLUTION sheet metal profile production software was also presented at the trade fair . This intelligent planning tool is designed to fundamentally optimise and digitise the entire sheet metal profile production process .
Two slitting and cut-to-length lines from Forstner were also on CIDAN ' s stand at EuroBLECH 2024 : the modular nuSLIT and an approximately 14m-long multicoil line . The nuSLIT slitting and cut-to-length line is a compact , fully automated and programmable slitting and cut-to-length line . Options on the line are a six-roller straightening unit , guillotine shear , sectional shear and labelling . The MULTIPLE DECOILING LINE slitting and cut-to-length line offers benefits such as scrap minimisation , fully automatic material change and parallel loading of the coil stations during production .
The TD double folder from Thalmann demonstrated almost fully automatic , efficient sheet metal profile production . The sheet metal blanks are automatically drawn in from the side , automatically flipped and the finished folded sheet metal profiles are automatically removed .
The FX32 folder on CIDAN ’ s stand featured a rotating combi beam and nuLINK control system with newly developed software for folding cassettes . The CIDAN FX Combi Series power folder is equipped with welded side frames for strong stability , twin-drive folding and upper beams , and eccentric clamping .
“ With a wide variety of customisation options , it has been designed for flexibility and faster job turn-over ,” CIDAN told ISMR .
Also on display on the stand at Hanover was CIDAN ’ s compact MFB manual segment folding machine . The segmented quick-change tool offers flexibility , and its small size and lightweight design means that it can be easily transported .

The FORMA Z32 Up / Down folding machine , on display at CIDAN ’ s booth , featured a newly developed upper beam that makes it suitable for folding cassettes . The new brush table protects surface-sensitive sheets and materials .
“ Folding both up and down , the fast FORMA Z folding machine eliminates the need to flip material , providing time-efficient folding of complex parts using one operator . The Combi beam rotation between two tooling set-ups and the unique geometry gives users plenty of working space . The automatic tool-locking is fast and has features that make tool-change very ergonomical ,” commented CIDAN .
“ The folding beam features automatic crowning , automatic folding centre adjustment and automatic sheet thickness adjustment . Several vacuum grippers hold the part steadily anywhere on the back gauge . The back gauge comes in many designs , which gives great freedom of choice in how users wish to operate the machine and manage the flow of blanks and parts to / from the machine ,” concluded the manufacturer .
