structure of Kjellberg Finsterwalde Plasma und Maschinen GmbH . The management partnership has been additionally strengthened by Dr . Martin Hertel , who was appointed as a further authorised signatory ( alongside Jens Friedel ) and oversees research and development .
As a management team , they take lead responsibility for production , sales and development . The team faces the common challenge of maximising the benefits of plasma technology for users in face of the increasing complexity of products and technologies . The aim is to continue to develop the company sustainably and globally as well as to be prepared for the future .
“ This year has been a very special one for us ; we are celebrating 100 years of Kjellberg in Finsterwalde . It all started in 1922 with a small manufacturing site for welding electrodes and , later , welding generators . Today , one century later , Kjellberg Finsterwalde is a global player . Our products and technologies are used all over the world . We are very proud of this and celebrated our 100th anniversary with our customers and partners at the recent EuroBLECH exhibition in Germany . Without them , we would not be where we are today ,” Falk Tzschichholz told ISMR .
The manufacturer also presented its new plasma power source , Q 4500 , at the EuroBLECH exhibition in Hanover from 25- 28 October 2022 . It is the most powerful plasma-cutting system in its Q-Series range , combining high-precision plasma cutting with the complex requirements of Industry 4.0 standards .
“ With a cutting current range of up to 450 A , Q 4500 is our most powerful plasma power source for digitised production . It combines precise plasma cutting and marking and enables the user to make precise plasma cuts of up to 120mm . High cutting speeds reduce cost and increase efficiency . components in real-time on standard devices ( i . e . smartphones and tablets ), regardless of location . Via the Ethernet interface , users can transfer and process all data using the MQTT protocol . Kjellberg eService ensures reliability in production through remote diagnostics , remote monitoring and regular updates ,” added Falk Tzschichholz .
Kjellberg ’ s Q-Hole technology enables precise holes in mild steel with a diameterto-material- thickness ratio of 0.75:1 via an extensive range of cutting technologies . The patent-pending ‘ ProPierce ’ process is offered exclusively for the Q-Series . It is designed to increase the previous maximum piercing capacity by 10mm in mild steel and by up to 30mm in stainless steel and aluminium .
“ The new technological process offers the user more flexibility . No process change , additional equipment or new consumables are required ,” confirmed Tzschichholz .
As the smallest model in the Q-Series , the Q 1500 and Q 1500 plus cut material thicknesses of up to 60mm with a maximum cutting current of 150A . The Q 3000 and Q 3000 plus plasma-cutting systems cut and mark material thicknesses of up to 80mm with a maximum cutting current of 300A . Because of their modular design , machine performance of the Q 1500 plus and Q 3000 plus can be upgraded to suit user requirements .
Strategic and technical focus
The management team confirmed its key strategic and technical priorities to ISMR .
“ We have committed to advancing our technologies and providing innovative and high-quality products , even though the core product has changed over the years . So , our current target is to further develop the
