A NEW GENERATION

ISMR caught up with Philipp Schöchlin , Boschert ’ s export manager , at EuroBLECH in Germany , to discuss its latest projects , new technologies and future plans .

Boschert GmbH & Co KG celebrated its 75th anniversary last year . Founded in 1946 as a small workshop for the textile industry , today it builds a wide range of sheet-metalworking equipment . This includes notching ; punching ; small and mid-sized press-brake bending systems ; plasma ; laser ; combined punching / plasma / fibre laser and copper processing machines . It also builds special machines to meet specific customer requirements . The company made a 26-millioneuro turnover in 2021 .

Fifteen years ago , Boschert established a joint venture company in a new factory in Greece with Gizelis SA . Together , both companies offered a new production range of press brakes and shears to the market . GIZELIS SA , founded in 1968 , manufactures machines and solutions for the sheet-metal industry . Last year , it launched two of its latest innovations ; a fully automated robotic bending cell , incorporating a flexible and productive ATC ( Automatic Tool Change ) system , and a versatile stacking system for shears .
Boschert is based in Lörrach ( near Freiburg , Germany ), employs 120 members of staff and has a production and assembly area of some 8,000 square metres . There are a further 700 square metres of office space , as well as a presentation and demonstration centre . It offers in-house training to all staff . Every year , two to three apprentices complete their industrial training with the company .

New laser generations
Two of Boschert ’ s latest innovations were on display this October at the EuroBLECH sheet-metal exhibition in Hanover , Germany : the Boschert CombiLaser generation and the Boschert FiberLaser generation . ‘ Compatibility & Connectivity ’ with Industry 4.0 protocols were also highlighted on its booth .
The FiberLaser solution is designed for users who want to have immediate access to the cut part and not wait for an entire sheet to be nested and cut . Some customers need that level of flexibility for their own production . It offers up to 4kW power and is supplied in two sizes : 3015 with a working range of 1,500 x 3,000mm and 4020 with a working range of 2,000 x 4,000mm . The machines can be optionally fitted with a
