“ SteelFab ’ s 2022 edition featured over 150 exhibitors ( from 25 countries ) and attracted 6,000 trade visitors during its four-day run .”

SteelFab is a key trade show in the Middle- East and North Africa region , dedicated to metalforming , fabricating , welding and finishing needs . Helping the regional industry to weather the storms , as well as ride the waves , the event has also become a vital wheel in the manufacturing industry that powers the region ’ s non-oil economy . The next edition will take place from 9-12 January 2023 at the Expo Centre Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates ( UAE ).

The event will include the second edition of the SteelFab 2023 Conference , with over 40 speakers . Hot topics will be presented and debated such as ‘ State of the Industry - Where are We Now and Future Projections ’; ‘ The Evolution of Welding Technology ’ and ‘ Sustainability : a Key Driver to Accelerate Growth in the Steel Industry ’.
Besides Pipe & Tube Machinery , SteelFab will feature other special focus areas such as Welding & Cutting , Machine Tools and Wear Resistance & Hard Facing . Country pavilions ; seminars , technical presentations and live machinery displays / demonstrations also feature . The event will also host the 2nd Welding Competition , sponsored by ESAB .
SteelFab caters to the complete requirements of the steel-fabrication industry , where metalforming and welding & cutting are major elements . The visitor footprint extends across the entire GCC , Middle East , North Africa , Indian sub-continent and Central Asian region .

Regional market trends
The show organiser highlighted various investment projects and potential in the region .
“ The GCC steel production sector , with sheet fabrication as its largest segment , manufactured 3.3 million tons of steel in 2020 , at a value of around US $ 3.1 billion . The UAE is set to invest US $ 3.2bn in development projects by 2023 ,” it told ISMR .
“ The US $ 13.6 billion UAE Railways Programme is to extend the existing rail network via Dubai to the port of Fujairah . Etihad Rail and Spain ’ s CAF have signed a Dh1.2 billion agreement for designing , manufacturing , supplying and maintaining passenger trains for the rail project in UAE . The UAE is also to invest US $ 163 billion in clean , renewable energy by 2050 ,” it added .
