New Voortman software solutions include EVI ( Extended Voortman Insights ) which “ shows , provides insight to and informs ” customers on their machine status .
“ Whether the machine is on , off , running or waiting , EVI always stays in touch . It keeps customers up to date with machine status and monitors production either through the EVI app on a mobile phone / tablet or if users are logged into the EVI webpage on a laptop . The connection is very accessible . If the machine is off or not running properly , users are immediately notified on their devices . It is like an instant message service . This increases the machine ’ s output by preventing downtime as well as improving overall production time . It also avoids the need for the operator to constantly stay physically next to the machine ,” explained Katerbarg .
Voortman ’ s VACAM operating software , designed to be user-friendly , is included in all its machines . System component behaviour is the same on all machines running VACAM software , and operators can switch between machines without worrying about where commands and settings on the control screen are located after initial VACAM training .
“ Our strategic focus will be on our current markets by working even more closely with our customers to help them to get more out of their production processes . We invest heavily in software solutions like EVI and VACAM and have launched a web shop where our customers can easily order their consumables .
Voortman ’ s stand at EuroBLECH 2022 .
Voortman Steel Machinery exhibited for the eleventh time , with an interactive booth , at the EuroBLECH exhibition in Hanover , Germany , and at FABTECH in Atlanta ( USA ). Presenting its latest developments in unmanned production , multi-processing , flexibility and real-time feedback , it conducted various demonstrations and showcased its latest machines at the international sheet-metal exhibition .
“ Visitors to EuroBLECH were introduced to the world ’ s first automated plate sorting solution , the Voortman Plate Sorter . It is an innovative solution for sorting finished plate parts , building project buffers and optimising logistics route . The Voortman pipe-cutting unit was another new machine at the Hanover trade fair . The TrueVolt technology is combined with a predictive model based on the full cut . This results in constant cutting quality ,” Katerbarg explained .
