New ‘ combined ’ bending line
Jorns AG , as a Swiss manufacturer of folders / bending systems , exhibited for the first time at EuroBLECH 2022 in Hanover with Krasser GmbH ( a manufacturer of sheet-metal cutting and coil-processing systems ) and SPÓŁKA STO-LARCZYK . Customers of the manufacturers are active in the tinsmith , roofing and façade construction sectors .
“ There is clearly an increasing demand in the market for cutting and bending machines and , to a certain extent , the decoiling system and recoiling system , to be combined and ‘ communicate ’ with each other to increase capacity , improve productivity and reduce lead times and error rates as well as material consumption ,” explained Jorns .
The three manufacturers decided to close this gap under the motto “ Together we are STRONG ” and offered a “ total package ” as a solution on a few square metres at the exhibition in Germany .
New JC100 control
Jorns also introduced its new JC100 control to the general public for the first time at the show . It expects the Jorns JDB double-bending machine to be delivered with the new JC100 from the beginning of January 2023 . The semi-automatic Jorns JB folder and fully automatic Jorns JDB double bending folder can be configured in lengths of 3.2 to 12.2 metres SE2 roll shears . and boast bending capacities for sheet metal of up to 3mm .
“ The new JC100 machine control offers a direct interface to the Bendex Enterprise Suite from MicroSea . The direct integration allows a bending profile ( consisting of bends ; notches ; holes ; mitre cuts etc .) to be obtained from the JC100 control directly from the higher-level Bendex Enterprise Suite system . A manual and file-based data export in a transfer format , such as XML , is therefore no longer necessary ,” explained Jorns .
For customers who do not use the interface to the Bendex Enterprise Suite platform from MicroSea , Jorns and Krasser offer a direct interface .
Cutting and feeding
The SE2 roll shears are electrically driven with an adjustable roller shear head where the air gap and overlap rate of the rollers

can be adjusted according to the quality and thickness of the material . They run on a precision guideway that is mounted on the machine frame . The system is driven by a servo motor and positive transmission via toothed belt . The cutting length is programmed using the control system .
The roll shears are fitted with a multibeam monitoring laser . The module checks the initial situation in semi-automatic mode and brings the shears to a stop if a beam is interrupted during the cutting process . Cutting speed on the new line is approx . 2000mm / s forward and 3000mm / s in reverse in fully automatic mode , restricted to 1350mm / s in semi-automatic mode for both directions ( for 2mm steel , 3mm aluminium and 1.5mm stainless steel ).
To increase the overall productivity of the Jorns double bender through an automated loading process , the Jorns JS side infeed is an option . Sheets with a thickness of up to
3mm steel and a width of up to 1000mm can be transported ( by 12 vacuum cups ) from a stacking table on the left of the machine and drawn into the machine at a speed of up to 2000mm / s . A stack of sheets up to a height of 150mm can be placed on the stacking table , ready for processing . Jorns double bending machines , which are equipped with a divided clamping system and a JS side infeed , can automatically load and bend up to four identical bending profiles per bending cycle
The new Jorns JPM profile manipulator uses vacuum suction units for picking up the flat sheet or the already bent bending profile . For the finished bending profiles , users can choose between two solutions : the Jorns JR Ramp output system ( manual ) or the Jorns JF conveyor system ( automatic output system ).
To feed pre-cut sheet-metal strip , up to a width of 1250mm , from the side onto the infeed tables , Jorns offers an optional transfer table which can be mounted on the left and / or right of the machine . n
