attracted close to 7,200 visitors during its fourday run . Live displays of cutting and welding machinery were held and its first ever ‘ Best Welder ’ competition was held . SteelFab 2020 , together with Lincoln Electric and the Middle East Industrial Training Institute ( MEITI ), presented the inaugural ‘ Best Welder @ SteelFab ’, a competition for welding industry professionals across the region .
The top ten exhibitor countries at the show were United Arab Emirates ; Italy ; India ; Turkey ; United Kingdom ; Germany ; China ; Taiwan ; The Netherlands and the United States .
“ Strong resurgence in the GCC ’ s economic growth prospects is fuelling growth of the region ’ s construction , which remains the biggest sector by project value , and infrastructure industries – the core sectors that are demand drivers of the metal working industry in the region . The UAE , along with Oman , is set to be one of the fastest growing economies in the GCC region . Continuing infrastructure spending , stimulus packages , reforms and growth in the non-oil sector are also providing an impetus to the industry ,” commented the show organiser .
Supporting associations for the show include UCIMU ( the association of Italian manufacturers of machine tools , robots , automation systems and ancillary products ) and the UAE Contractors ’ Association . Preregistration to the show is requested to avoid queues at the on-site registration counters and for privileged access to the Trade Buyers ’ Lounge .
Special focus areas
SteelFab will also feature several overseas country pavilions ; seminars and technical presentations ; live displays and a dedicated vertical for the fastener and fixing industry -- Fasteners World Middle East . Dedicated exclusively to fasteners and fixings , it caters to manufacturers , distributors , suppliers and end-users of fastener and fixings systems and related products and services . Now in its sixth edition , pavilions at the show are expected from China , India , Turkey and Europe .
