PRODUCT REVIEWS Launch of Powermax33 XP
Hypertherm Associates, a U. S.-based manufacturer of industrial cutting systems and software, has announced the launch of its latest Powermax ® plasma cutting system: the Powermax33 XP.
“ Engineered for metalworkers who require high-quality cuts, greater capacity and portability, the new air plasma system delivers more power, more value and an unrivalled six-year power supply warranty. Built to handle a broad range of cutting tasks, across multiple industries and offered at a lower price point, the Powermax33 XP combines enhanced cutting performance with the Powermax reputation for reliability and long consumable life. The system‘ s versatility provides high power for thick metal cutting, while also supporting FineCut ® consumables for detailed, highquality cuts on thinner materials,” Hypertherm explained.
“ We developed the Powermax33 XP to solve real-world challenges that our customers face,” outlined Jeff Hluchyj, Powermax product manager.“ The system delivers professionalgrade performance in a compact, lightweight system that is built to last.”
The easy-to-use, 9.5kg portable plasma system offers a recommended cutting capacity of 13mm( 0.5 in.) and a severance capacity of 20mm( 0.75 in.). With dualvoltage design, the Powermax33 XP can operate on either 120V or 240V power, making it suitable for shop or field use.
Hypertherm has also developed a one-micron Powermax air filter which, installed directly at the Powermax gas inlet, captures moisture and contaminants before they enter the system. This helps to safeguard critical components and maintain consistent cutting performance.
“ By preventing air-related issues at the source, the Powermax air filter supports longer consumable life, improved cut quality and reduced unplanned downtime, protecting both the system and the operator’ s productivity,” concluded the company.
Founded in 1968, Hypertherm Associates is a 100 per cent Associate-owned company, employing approximately 2,000 Associates, with operations and partner representation worldwide. n

Deburring and grinding
RWT’ s STEELLINE series of deburring and grinding machines comes in three models: Series 120, Series 180 and Series 240.
“ These offer a complete solution for the deburring and grinding of workpieces with a sanding belt unit. Edge rounding and oxide removal is done with a disc brush unit. A rotary unit is for edge rounding and surface finishing, while a brush unit completes final surface polishing,” explained the Czech manufacturer.
“ The machines can process laser-cut, plasma-cut, punched and waterjet-cut parts. They can also deburr stainless-steel parts covered with foil( edge rounding does not damage the foil),” it added.
The company’ s roots date back to 1921 when Josef Rojek, the great-grandfather of the company’ s owner( Ing. Petr Rojek) founded a company named Rojek, which specialised in turning machines.
Ing. Petr Rojek founded RWT sro( Ltd) in 1999, with a focus on the manufacture of metalworking machines for deburring and grinding operations. n
