BENTELER Steel / Tube major investment

BENTELER is strengthening its Paderborn sites in Germany with additional investments. At the heart of these is a major project for the BENTELER Steel / Tube division: approximately € 17 million is being invested in expanding tube manufacturing at the Schloß Neuhaus plant.
“ With this investment, we are strategically expanding our capacities for seamless and cold-drawn tubes, especially for automotive applications such as airbag tubes and rotor shafts. The expansion will increase production capacity at the site by around 15 %, allowing us to respond even more effectively to growing demand,” said Thomas Michels, Chief Operating Officer( COO), BENTELER Steel / Tube.
The investment includes a new production line for drawn tubes. This includes drawing preparation, a drawbench, expanded heat treatment capacity and a combined straightening, testing and sawing system. The line will also be complemented by systems for quality control, preservation and packaging. The first system— the new
drawbench— will go into operation at the end of May 2026. In addition, capacities for sawing short tube sections will be expanded.
Daniel Thewes, plant manager of the Schloß Neuhaus and Paderborn plants at BENTELER Steel / Tube, explained:“ By expanding our production capacity, we are creating 30 new jobs at the site, once again demonstrating our commitment to the Paderborn region. Today, approximately 1,100 employees at the Schloß Neuhaus site already produce around 160,000 metric tons of tubes per year; roughly 250,000 tubes, in a wide variety of dimensions, leave
our facilities every day and are delivered to customers worldwide.”
“ Continuous investment is part of our long-term site strategy,” confirmed the BENTELER Group.“ Since 2022, we have invested more than € 30 million annually in our Paderborn sites. In 2026, due to the major investment in our Steel / Tube division, this figure will exceed € 50 million. This underscores that the Paderborn location is, and will remain, of central importance to BENTELER.”
BENTELER is also investing in its automotive divisions: more than € 15- million will flow into the BENTELER Automotive Components and BENTELER Automotive Modules divisions in 2026— including approximately € 8 million for various customer projects. In addition, the BENTELER Group will invest € 6.5 million into central digitalisation and IT projects at the Paderborn sites. n

Machinery showcase at MAKTEK Eurasia

MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 has received formal recognition as a“ Prestigious Fair” by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye. The ninth edition of the International MAKTEK Eurasia Fair will take place between 28 September- 3 October 2026 at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Centre in Istanbul, Türkiye.
The event is organised by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organisation Inc. in cooperation with the Machine Tools Industrialists and Business Association( TIAD) and is supported by the Turkish Machine Manufacturers Association( MIB). ISMR is an international media partner. MAKTEK Eurasia covers machine tools and production technologies, showcasing the Turkish machinery industry to a global audience.
“ The inclusion of the trade show among the list of exhibitions endorsed by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Türkiye presents a substantial opportunity for participating companies. Under the framework of this support, eligible companies may receive subsidies for participation expenses, including floor space( per square metre), stand construction and space rental, covering up to 50 % of total incurred costs,” explained the show organiser.
“ Within the initial 45-day early-bird sales
period, booth bookings reached an occupancy rate surpassing 70 % of the total exhibition area. Current demand levels suggest that the exhibition will cover all 14 exhibition halls. Currently, there are 44 international and 171 domestic firms on the waiting list, prompting the organizing committee to address demands for over 10,000 square metres of additional exhibition space,” it added.
MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 will introduce an innovative“ Guest of Honour Country” model, marking a new chapter in global industrial collaboration. A specific nation will be designated a strategic partner each year, featuring exclusive networking events, sectoral engagement programmes and highlevel diplomatic participation.
Negotiations are currently underway with a prominent European-based industrial ecosystem to serve as the inaugural Guest of Honour.
“ The exhibition will also feature dedicated experience and content zones where emerging talents showcase innovative projects, industry leaders exchange valuable insights and the future trajectory of production technologies is debated. By integrating education, innovation and professional networking, these zones will underscore the visionary character of the exhibition,” concluded the show organiser. n
