Innovation focus at Global Industrie

The eighth edition of Global Industrie, held from 30 March-2 April 2026 in Paris, France, welcomed 60,000 industry professionals and 8,000 young people, a 12 % increase on Global Industrie Paris 2024. Chaired by Nicolas Dufourcq, CEO of Bpifrance, the event combined innovation, business, forward-looking insights and talent development. ISMR was an international media partner at the event.
“ Highlighting the strategic role of industry for economic and technological sovereignty, the event hosted nine ministers, alongside representatives from across the political spectrum, as well as delegations of parliamentarians and senators. A forwardlooking platform on the industry of tomorrow,‘ La Grande Scène’, addressed key topics such as international expansion, innovation and its support systems, technological breakthroughs— particularly in energy and digital— talent attraction and skills development,” show organiser, GL Events, explained.
“ Global Industrie also strengthened its internationality with the participation of Germany’ s Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Gunther Krichbaum, and with 25 % international exhibitors representing
91 countries. With 2,300 exhibitors across 14 industrial sectors; 50 enduser industries represented; over 3,000 machines in operation; 240 conferences and 700 speakers, Global Industrie provided companies with the tools, solutions, equipment and expertise needed to modernise and enhance competitiveness,” it added.
The event also showcased the growing interconnections between production systems and other sectors— particularly digital— highlighted by the Digital Technologies Village, bringing together key players in data, cloud computing, digital twins, 5G and cybersecurity. Designed to support industrial players, the Booster area addressed challenges related to financing, innovation, skills development and digital expertise, offering tailored guidance to visitors. The event also featured a dedicated Research & Innovation space, bringing together public and private laboratories, as well as a forward-looking showcase on supply chain and logistics through‘ L’ Entrepôt Connecté’ by GI.
The GI Awards recognized outstanding industrial innovations. In 2026, 21 innovations were shortlisted from around
100 applications. Four industrial solutions were finally selected across four categories: Responsible Industry, Digital Innovation, Industrial Performance & Efficiency and Technological Transformation. A special“ Startup” Award, dedicated to an industrial startup, and the“ Jury’ s Favourite Award” were also presented.
Global Industrie also welcomed 8,000 young people( from middle school to engineering level) and job seekers, offering them opportunities to engage with professionals and discover the latest technologies and innovations. The Arena, hosting the GI Avenir initiative( focused on careers and employment) and the Golden Tech competition, along with demonstrations and guided tours, gave visitors a hands-on experience of the industrial world.
Visitors also attended training sessions of WorldSkills champions, preparing for the global competition in Shanghai( 23-26 September 2026), in fields such as robotics integration, additive manufacturing and electronics. n
