The BMK-20i stud welding device from SOYER has been designed for energy efficiency and is suitable for large-diameter weld studs up to M16.
“ It is specially designed for an invariably high welding capacity, even during uninterrupted continuous operation. In combination with a SRM ® stud welding gun, this stud welder enables energy savings of up to 70 % and troublefree welding, even in out-of-position applications, while causing no damage to the material,” SOYER explained.
“ The user-friendly PH-3N SRM16 welding gun is the ideal accessory for the BMK-16i stud welding inverter. It enables the production of highquality welds in the radially symmetrical magnetic field( SRM ®). Its special feature is the SRM16 tripod which allows weld studs of up to M16 to be welded,” it continued.
Stud welding allows metal fasteners( such as weld studs, weld pins and tapped studs) to be welded onto another metal object using an electric arc at lightning speed. An electric arc is created between the end of the stud and the surface of the workpiece, melting both parts. The stud is then forged into the molten pool. The material solidifies and the stud is welded.
The weld is uniform and has complete fusion across the flange. As the whole surface of the weld stud is joined to the workpiece, the resulting weld joint is stronger than the stud or parent material.
