FOCUS ON WATERJET CUTTING
The OptiMAX from OMAX.
OMAX ® Corporation is a manufacturer of rapid multi-axis abrasive waterjet systems, cutting 2D and 3D parts from a range of materials and thicknesses. OMAX has already installed over 7,000 waterjet cutting systems worldwide and uses the experience gained to continuously improve. Owner of the OMAX, OptiMAX; MAXIEM ®, GlobalMAX ®, MicroMAX and ProtoMAX ® brands, the company designs waterjet systems that feature intuitive software, efficient direct drive pump technology and a wide range of accessories. In April 2019, OMAX merged with Hypertherm( see Hypertherm Associates entry in this article).
In March 2022, Hypertherm’ s OMAX Corporation introduced the OptiMAX, a new generation of waterjet designed to quickly turn prints into parts while relying less on highly experienced operators. The ProtoMAX is a compact, self-contained cutting system suitable for prototyping and low-volume cutting. OMAX also offers highly intuitive IntelliMAX software.
OMAX direct drive pumps are designed to be compact, quiet, efficient, easy to maintain and inexpensive to operate. They include the EnduroMAX direct drive pump, MAXIEM( for the MAXIEM line of waterjets) and GlobalMAX. The DynaMAX intensifier pump is suitable for water-only( or pure waterjet) applications, multi cutting-head systems and etching. In May 2024, Hypertherm announced a major version update to ProNest ® 2025 version 16.0 nesting software, which includes synchronised features for IntelliMAX software. OMAX Order is a mobile application designed to streamline part orders for OMAX machine owners and operators.
Perndorfer Maschinenbau KG produces waterjet cutting systems to customer requirements, as well as special machines and its WJC range. Another mainstay is mechanical contract manufacturing. Everything is manufactured and produced in Austria at its Kallham site.
At EuroBLECH 2024 in Hanover last October, it highlighted its new product, the HTRS H 2 O Re-use. This is a resource-saving cutting water circulation system, with an absolute separation rate of 0.02μm, designed for the safety of high-pressure pumps and components.
Projet System is a supplier of pure waterjet spare parts; abrasive waterjet spare parts; high-pressure pumps; coils; highpressure tubing and high-pressure coupling.
Rainford Precision’ s Finepart micro abrasive WMC500 II waterjet system is manufactured in Sweden and features a micro-fine jet of just 0.2mm. This, said the manufacturer, provides a positional accuracy of +/-2.5microns, a repeatability of +/-2 microns and an adjustable jet pressure from 500 to 4000bar.
Resato International’ s product range includes high-pressure technology waterjetcutting systems as well as components and systems for testing, injection and control that operate up to 14,000 bars. Its modular waterjet cutting solutions include the ACM- 2015 waterjet cutting machine. This machine is equipped with a three- or five-axis cutting head and is powered by a waterjet intensifier pump( type PJ4-4000).
The Resato Job manager, Resato EMS monitoring software and the Job Manager module ensure that multiple cutting jobs can be programmed. The EMS monitoring software monitors the cutting process 24 / 7. Products also include the double intensifier pump and the abrasive continuous supply mini.
SigmaNEST nesting software for waterjet cutting features automatic corner ramping to eliminate tailwash and gouging of material. SigmaNEST supports multi-nozzle cutting on new and remnant material.
StM Waterjet Group is a provider of waterjet cutting systems with offices in Eben, Austria; Schweinfurt in Germany and Reiden in Switzerland. Each of its systems
can be used for pure water, abrasive or combined cutting processes so that all machines can cut a wide variety of materials without conversion. Parallel cutting( 2D) with up to twelve cutting heads is also possible. Its systems are manufactured in series, pre-installed, tested and usually delivered in container format.
“ For 50 years, we have been developing future-oriented production solutions at our company headquarters in Eben im Pongau, Austria,” it told ISMR.
Its waterjet cutting systems include the STM MicroCut 4.0, STM EcoCut, STM MasterCut, ST PremiumCut; ST PremiumCut IFC and STM Cube. With STM OneClean modules, water and abrasive can not only be separated from each other, but also largely cleaned and reused for the cutting process. STM BasicClean is designed for abrasive rinsing and offers a fully automatic and spacesaving system with a large bag for collecting the settled abrasive sand.
Swift-Jet Pro waterjet cutting system.
Swift-Cut Automation offers the Swift- Jet Pro as its waterjet cutting solution. It can cut metal up to 50mm thick and low-density materials up to 100mm thick. The underwater cutting system( adjustable water level) means less noise and less mess. It also features high- / low- pressure control for piercing brittle material. It comes with a touchscreen HMI with optical mouse control.
TCI Cutting, a Spanish manufacturer of laser and waterjet cutting machines and intelligent automation systems, also develops intelligent production management software for autonomous and strategic decision-making( TCI Manager). It offers a wide range of waterjet cutting systems. Its BP-H COMBI cutting machine integrates, in a single machine, water cutting technology and HD plasma cutting. This machine incorporates the 5x Direct Drive 4.0 Infinite Loop ® five-axis cutting head, which allows infinite rotation without rewinding in three-dimensional cuts, a height regulator, an anti-collision system and automatic sludge extraction, among others.
TECHNI Waterjet manufactures waterjetcutting solutions for the metals, composites, glass and stone industries. Now part of the GMM Group, it controls the entire the waterjet process in-house, with its own
