FOCUS ON STAMPING
Servo press stamping
The High Dynamic Transfer System of the Arisa S-2-800-400-180-SP servo press is designed for the rapid and precise transport of materials and workpieces.
The two servomotors of the Nidec Arisa 800-tonne servo press are designed for precision, speed, control and accuracy in the application.
To achieve compatibility with the existing machinery, Arisa adapted the standard press to Craemer’ s requirements( including the coil infeed for transfer.)
The 4m-long tool table of the Arisa servo press offers improved tool accessibility to enable easy tool changes.
About the Craemer Group
Germany-based Craemer Group is an international, family-run company specialising in the core businesses of metal forming, plastics processing and toolmaking. Headquartered in Germany, Craemer GmbH was founded in 1912.
In its Metal division, the Group has three press plants in Europe, including Craemer Attendorn GmbH & Co. KG( with presses ranging from 315 to 2,500 tons and table lengths of up to eight metres).
In 2023, Craemer generated a total operating performance of approximately 355 million euros with around 1,100 employees in all three business fields.
About Nidec Arisa
Nidec Arisa is one of the leading manufacturers of large presses, with a focus on the automotive market. Based in Europe, the company designs and manufactures mechanical, servo and transfer presses and offers full automation. Its customised designs are built to meet demanding requirements.
Nidec Arisa is part of the Nidec Press & Automation group, which offers industry knowledge, expertise and a global service network. NP & A has service centres with spare parts warehouses on three continents and deploys field service engineers from over 90 locations worldwide.
Craemer’ s Attendorn site, which has been a supplier to the international automotive industry for decades, has been part of the Craemer Group as a metalworking subsidiary since 2015.
Production at the site focuses mainly on precision-stamped parts for automobiles, such as belt system components, fittings and connecting elements for seat structures. The products, which weigh between 10 and 500 grams, are now supplied to automotive suppliers as well as manufacturers of white goods, fittings and other industries in Europe, Asia and South America.
For the past two years, the Arisa S-2-800- 400-180-SP servo press, with a press force of 8,000 kilonewtons( kN, equivalent to 800 tons) and a table length of four metres, has been expanding capacity in Craemer’ s upper pressforce range.
“ Materials are becoming stronger and stronger,” explained Thomas Burholt, Managing Director, Craemer Attendorn GmbH & Co. KG,“ so a higher press force is needed to transform the metal parts.”
The machinery currently comprises seven modern presses with forces of between 315 and 800 tons, and table lengths of 2.5 to 4 metres, for processing steel or non-ferrous metal sheets up to 5mm thick.
A customised service
Thomas Burholt also highlighted the services offered by the Nidec Arisa Group.
“ To achieve compatibility with our existing machinery, Arisa also adapted the standard press to our needs, including the coil infeed for transfer, table size and installation height,” he confirmed.
Peripherals for the 800-ton press are fully integrated into the control system.
“ This simplifies operation and processing, as everything runs together in one place,” added the Attendorn managing director.“ Accordingly, our employees have been thoroughly trained in an Arisa workshop to be able to use the press in the best possible way.”
Arisa offers a global customer service network with, it told ISMR,“ many standard press components that are easily available”. n
